Mod. Notice Competitions: READ BEFORE POSTING A COMPETITION

As I am looking to change a few things for the Jumper Tipping Competition for next season, I was wondering whether anyone would be interested in having tipping competition over the summer so I could test some things out. Hopefully this will make running the AFL version much easier and streamline the rules through without any errors. I was looking at either doing the EPL (starts Saturday night), the A-League (October 8) or the NFL (September 11). Thought?

There is literally no point tipping in these competitions because they get it right. Every time. The whole reason for an AFL jumper tipping competition is because of the sheer stupidity and inconsistency in the application of what 'clashes' and what doesn't.

something I forgot to mention in last night's Sheffield Shield shitpost; you should also look at ways to make tipping more secure after all those joke tippers showed their heads earlier this year.

I have thought about this quite abit. I have two solutions:
1. Add passcodes to the tipping sheets.
2. Scrap the website, and run everything through PMs

I was also looking at making the Friday game a partial lockout, and having the full lockout for the Saturday games. This means that people that live in Perth wont be fully locked out at 1530 Friday afternoons.

It was more of a way to learn about other sports uniforms policies, and how they compare to the AFL.

I'm thinking of running a little comp here on the FJGD board,
would like some feedback on what others think and if it would be successful. Or in fact it may have been done before.

NAME OF COMP
Randomizer
COMP DETAILS
- This will be run monthly - 2 weeks for entries, 2 weeks for polls
- Start of comp there will be 3 random colours given, each entry must contain 1 home Guernsey in these specific colours.
- Winner of the month will get to choose the 3 next colours for the following month.

It would be interesting to see the different designs that will come up using all the same colours.

anyway I hope that makes sense,
bumping to get another comp going. need just 1 more new like.

The 'B-League'
-Create teams for a new reserves competition
-Winner of each round gets to choose what team is next (has to be in non-AFL city) and what colours
-Competition will run fortnightly (1 week for comp, 1 week for poll)
Didn't you attempt this when you first joined BigFooty?

I am trying to 'resurrect' the competition
You've got my like for it already, but I'd like to know that you'll keep running it. People start a comp and then never finish it. I'm not saying it's your fault, but an idea like that needs to keep going

I will keep it going for at least 6 rounds, then if successful will keep going, if not then not.

wasn't there a few not being counted?
2 were not counted.

But personally I think there needs to be a couple of more comps going on I think, that's what we are all here for and thats to design.

Interested in starting a competition (do we need to provide prizes? I donut (mmm) know what I am doing).

Would be for a Port Adelaide logo but with tight parameters:
  1. Must be enclosed in a circle (preferably no protrusions)
  2. Can only include Black (Primary), White (Secondary) and Teal (Tertiary).
  3. Must have Port Adelaide or PA included at a minimum.
  4. Adoptable as single club logo. POWER and Magpie references kept subtle or not included.
  5. Preferable to include 1870.

I don't think tight parameters make for great logos.

The current Aston Villa logo was designed after the supporters were allowed to vote on each aspect of the crest; the shape, the colours used, the lion, the motto etc etc etc, and it came out looking very boring.

Give designers a bit more leeway and you'll get much better results

I want people (with more talent than me) to explore what can be done with a circle though. The circle harks back to the SANFL logos and hopefully will restrain to a simple idea.
