Mod. Notice Competitions: READ BEFORE POSTING A COMPETITION

Yeah, I think if you're bumping something 4 months old and it hasn't gotten 10 likes, it's a no.

We need some sort of time limit here. Good ideas get their 10 votes in a day, tops. Certainly no longer than say, 3 days.
I'd say a week tops. Slight bit of leeway for those who aren't as active as others

Soccer kit of the Fortnight (SKOTF)

Pretty much a sister competition to the new FLO, this is the classic "of the week/fortnight" competition that has been run countless times.
One week for designing, one week for a poll (this may be amended later on)
Contestants are given a soccer team to redevelop. This means that the design is guided by the current design, but cannot be the same (i.e., Brisbane have an orange shirt with black shoulders or WSW have a red base with black hoops)

Winners will be acknowledged in a honour board and may choose the next club.

To enter:
In one image, contestants will provide
Jersey (front and back) and shorts
Socks and logo are optional, but definitely preferred.

Contestants are given, in the first week, a location within Australia and a moniker. The rest is up to them.
Locations will never be a capital city for a state or territory, but they may be major cities within the state.
Winners may select the next weeks location, with the competition runner adding a moniker.

I would make one change and make it a redesign of an existing team. The whole random location/moniker thing has been done a bit too much and it is far more of a challenge to create a design for an existing club that has not been made before while still being constrained by logos/sponsors/colours.

COTW (Crossover Of The Week)
There will be one team from any sport (excluding AFL) to make a home and away football jumper for chosen by the winner of the previous round.

I had the random factor so that people can develop new ideas, which is what the FLO is about, but I can change. What does everyone else think?

Oh I get that, but I think trying to create while under tight restrictions fosters creativity and thinking out of the box more than 100% freedom which just lets people let loose and doesn't really allow them to learn what they are doing right and wrong. I know having that when I first started designing on soccer forums many years ago has helped me now, as I can understand better what works and what doesn't when it comes to different situations.

Open briefs are boring

Remember jumper development? That was great. Constraints are good. Not too many constraints, but having them is good.

Yeah, I am only suggesting sticking to teams colours (both current and former), sponsors, and logos.

This. Sounds good.

Contestants are given a team in the A-league to redevelop. This means that the design is guided by the current design, but cannot be the same (i.e., Brisbane have an orange shirt with black shoulders or WSW have a red base with black hoops)
The order will be in alphabetical order according to location, but alternate between standard and reversed order (week 1: A, week 2: Z etc)

Winners will be acknowledged in a honour board.

Now you've gone too far the other way, make it for any team in the world and make it winners choice. Restricting to the A-League is really too simple, where as allowing the choice of any club from around the world opens up so much more as people will have to research the team and have to find out for themselves what the team has worn before.

Just for example these are some that I made for competitions in the past (using actual sponsors was not a requirement):

Arsenal (I made it an anniversary kit though it was not part of the requirement)

Liverpool Hillsborough Anniversary

Sydney FC

But I also had to make designs for CSKA Moscow, Gwangju Sangmu Phoenix, Glentoran FC, FBK Kaunas, FC United of Manchester, Sandefjord Fotball and many others. It was far more fun to have to actually learn about a club and finding out ways to change their kits while sticking to a set of guidelines than just sticking to what was known or doing what ever you wanted with no base to work from.

Ok. Cheers guys. I'll edit it now

Also, what do we think about having a home kit and a goalkeeper kit?

Just home, perhaps some specialty rounds that feature multiple kits (home/away/gk) but not every time.

Got an idea along the lines of NAFL, FLO etc.

We have a league that caters for clubs that play more than one sport.
So for example a club similar to Barcelona (whoever we choose) who have soccer, basketball, handball, ice hockey etc.

So we have say 3 different sports, from say.
Grid Iron
Basketball
Ice Hockey
Beach Soccer
Tennis
Cricket
Union
La Crosse

Make a home light and Clash dark for your teams major sport (1 of the 3) and for the other two we can just do home sets.

Anyone have anymore ideas for this?

Hello and Welcome to the proposed Any Team World Cup

You may be wondering what this “Any Team World Cup” is, well let me explain.

In this comp you bring your own team. This means there is NO ONE telling you what or who you should be representing. You could create a team from Mars, Antarctica or even Pandora from the movie Avatar. Let your imagination run wild!

No set date has been decided on this comp as it’s still in development stage.

This will be run in a similar style as the FIFA world Cup, with Group stages followed by a knockout (where it will be a home & away matches) to determined who will be the ATWC Champion.

The group stage will only use the 1 Guernsey in all matchups, each team will play everyone in the group once, and top 2 from each division will advance to the knockout stage

The Knockout stage will be best of 2 games (Home & Away) this is where both home and Away Guernseys will be used, with the team with the most votes to go through to the next round.

Each team will be required to design both a Home & Away Guernsey (Away only used for knockout), Shorts, Socks & Their own designed logo.

So there is our proposal for the All Team World Cup, if you have any questions or feedback I will happy to hear them.

Thank you for your time.

A couple of opinions:

1) I know you've said that no date is set yet, but still, wait a little bit. We've got people designing for FIRA and for the FLO at the moment, both of which will involve concurrent league and cup style comps. I'd hold off even thinking about this one until they are actually underway. Competition overload is definitely a thing that this board has had to deal with before.

2) Your brief is too vague. Any team from anywhere, real or fantasy? The Narnia Fauns defeating the Omicron Persei 8 Sea Captains to play the Werribee Jets in the final? It's too vague and it will have a negative effect on the quality of entries IMO. People will do better work when they have a bit of direction. Pick a theme or location or scope for entries, base your pitch around it, and it will be a stronger branded competition that people are more interested in.

Wouldn't mind seeing a comp where people design a suite for State of Origin. As in, one week it comes down to warm up shirts, then training tees, then scarves, beanies, and camps. You could limit it to the three or include all the 'smaller' states as well.

Yeah, sounds alright. Getting people to agree on the dynamics of the competition firstly would drive me mental.

What about, one week is a fluff item (beanie and scarf, training top etc) and the second an actual playing strip. Alternate for as many weeks as you like. An entry must consist of one for all states/teams involved.
