Winner chooses next company?

Yeah. I've got the competition thread up now. I've basically copied and pasted a large chunk from LogoOTW onto it.

Has there been a thread for the new Richmond vfl jumper yet

RFC_Official has told us that it will be similar to the traditional Richmond jumper with a few modifications. It is officially being revealed in November and will be manufactured by KooGa.

Make comp?

Make comp?

No, not really worthy of a competition, I don't know how much interest it will get as other designs from previous Richmond themed comps would probably just be used.

Would work much better as a discussion in an existing thread.

I would classify it as news?

Just pondering over a competition idea: New Teams, Traditional Guernseys.

I was thinking along the lines of taking one of the newer competitions, like the A-League or the Big Bash, and making guernseys according to the technology available back in the 70's/early 80's. So old-style woolly jumper guernsey designs; prior to sublimation. So no gradients, cartoon logos, detailed prints etc; just old-skool footy designs which could be made into the woollen guernseys of the day.

This is class!!!

Seriously. That is all that you say.

NEW COMPETITION IDEA:

Name: AuPL (Australian Premier League) or AmPL (American Premier League) still haven't decided yet.

Type of competition: Round-Robin with knock-out

Number of teams: 12 or 16 (depending on interest)

Number of Rounds: 8 + 4 (12 team league) or 12 + 4 (16 team league)

What separates this from other comps:
1. I will be splitting Paint and PhotoShop/Illustrator into different Conferences.
2. I will be asking each designer to create a random jumper (ie. heritage, Members jumper, centenary etc) to keep people designing as compared to just 2 design at the start of the comp.

Other: the rounds and competition formatting will be similar to the NFL.

Is this a new jumper each round?

Just do straight knock out with a new jumper each round.

R1 - Home Jumpers
R2 - Away/Clash Jumpers
R3 - Heritage Jumpers
R4 - ????? Warm-Up Top, whatever else

Assuming 16 competitors, it would be a neat format - it would get it over and done with rather than dragging it out unnecessarily. Basically, it means that people need to design a high quality and unique jumper each round over 4 rounds just to advance to the next one. It's a format that demands a high standard.

That would just been the Designathon Knock-Out version. This could actually take longer as some as it requires every contestant to resubmit a new entry every round, and as I was planning to have 4 day rounds, I don't want a week gap between rounds.

With the one off jumpers, I was going to announce the teams required to design a one off jumper two rounds in advance, and of all different purposes (members, year celebration etc.). This way people are not inclined to send me all their designs at the start of the competition, so they don't end up designing through the competition.

Yes please. I am also awaiting the return of the designathon. Going to give it a real shot this time.

Most likely won't be this year. Probably sometime early next year (after January as I have a major project I am involved in during that month) would be the likely time for it to come back.
