You know what, I had the same idea last night, lol. I also thought it might be cool to have a weekly comp for a moniker/nickname.

Dragons one week, Panthers the next etc.

you could probably mix the two together, instead of having two of the same thing each week.
maybe the winner could pick either a theme or a moniker, keep people interested a little longer.

That almost sounds like a bare-bones version of What-if Wednesdays and Locality OTF combined

My idea for a competition is called Leagues of Australia.

Each week a sporting league in Australia is chosen as the subject and the goal is to design a guernsey that is representative of the entire league without the design being similar to any of the clubs in the league. For example, if AFL is the selected league making a bulldogs guernsey is not allowed. Also keep away from using the design elements that the clubs in the league use. For example, if it is the AFL don't just use straight up stripes, sashes or hoops. Try to make something unique. The leagues that can be selected are any! This means AFL, SANFL, VFL or even any local leagues, possibly also other codes like the NRL. The only requirement is that the guernseys for the clubs in the league can easily be found. The completed leagues in the Country/Local Footy Jumpers Project is a good source for these. You can also do the research for a particular league in the project if you wish to possibly see it in the competition. This competition also has the possibility for expansion with international sporting leagues if need be.

If we're looking for a new weekly competition I'd like to bump this old post of mine. I'd be open to tweaking it to redesigning a kit for a club each week but it has to fit under similar guidelines by not looking similar to any preexisting kits in the league.

In regards to the Haro vote banning situation,

Haro, this is all really dodgy, and it hasn't exactly endeared you to the voters.

I know how i'll be voting in all future IFA games involving someone who had actively tried to ban someone for voting against him.

How everyone else votes is up to them.

Rugby World League​

AIM-Create a Rugby Union franchise from around the world. By doing this you will need to create-

• A Home Kit
• An Away Kit (With white shorts)
• A Logo (Must be original)
• A one-off kit.
• Charity Shield kit

All kits WILL include socks and shorts.

Guidelines-The competition will work like this

There will be two divisions, one for the North of the equator and one for South . Each conference will contain at least 8 teams. Franchises will then play each team once in there division, following that will be inter-conference finals for the top 4 teams from each conference.
Also, a seperate interconference knockout tournament called the Charity Shield may be included to make a longer competition.
I am also considering a world cup style tournament for the top team representing each country.

NEW!! WIP idea I will be floating an idea based around a points system that rewards teams for posting stuff about there franchise (Eg,Stadiums,logos,mascots etc...) in the league Hub thread. This will encourage team designers to put extra thought into there concepts. A possible idea for a points system at the moment could be involving liked posts for these ideas.

My only suggestion is not to make the away shorts a compulsory white. Teams like Manly, Raiders, and Roosters use white shorts at home and colours shorts away.

How many people have submitted/started designs to the Olympics? It's not a strong competition, and may just be easier to start the polls now.

Before people start getting excited about the above comp reaching 10 likes, I should explain that is only an indication of interest and there will be changes to the way comps are decided and run in the future.

Letting the IFA go ahead against many people's wishes was obviously a mistake but we felt compelled to because of the 10 likes 'rule'. This will not be an issue in the future as all decisions will be at the jurisdiction of the mod team

does this mean the 10 likes 'rule' is still in place, but once it get's there, the mods will look over it then have the final say?
what if rather than just mods, the board had a 'leadership team' which would be the most prominent, popular etc posters like Scorch, S2A, etc?
would that work? a few more heads to debate over any issues going on or whatever.
just throwin' it out there.

Something to think about.

Limiting it to 16 people and not having any reserves or second tier is a good idea.

If its a week to week thing, you could bring back NRL COoTF or try something like the Reimagining OTW for NRL. I think we could have an RL league comp, and use the winner of that as a wildcard entry into a Champion of Champions quick poll with the winners of NAFL, FIra and Can-AM (plus a South American comp that I think was in the pipelines?)

Theme Thursdays(?)
each week, one kit must be submitted, whether it be Home, Away or Clash for a fictional team, that follows a central theme, such as: indigenous, religious, beach, etc.
the winner of the previous week picks any theme they'd like for the next round.
Rules:
Must include: Guernsey and shorts.
Must have entrants name somewhere on the design.
Must follow the theme (duh)

If the interest is still there for the South/Central America + Carribeans competition (I need an acronym..), I'll probably start polls for a logo and bids in the not too distant future. Although I do want to see how the Can-Am and ANAL both go.

I'd be more interested in a weekly rugby competition than a league. I'd be much more interested in any rugby competition if Scorch uploaded his excellent new template.
