I had actually been thinking of a quick 2 month comp (1 month to design, 1 month round robin) to happen twice a year. Basically it’s a state comp, with each iteration taking on a different state. So in other words, one time it’ll be Victoria, then SA, then WA and so on.
Not really a serious though, but if people were interested, I’d take it on

Perfect idea for a short term comp really.

Okay. Let's strike while the iron is hot. Short and sharp competition proposal:

Gaelic-Australian Rules National Trophy

16 team international rules straight knockout tournament.

Just for a bit of fun, there will be a bit of luck in terms of the location and primary colour of your kit.

There will be a list of 16 Australian locations and 16 colours. When the thread opens it will be first in, best dressed with location and colour. The post that comes first gets the location and the colour. You'll be required to use that colour for at least 70% of your kit.

Location list:
Sydney
Melbourne
Brisbane
Perth
Adelaide
Gold Coast
Canberra
Newcastle
Central Coast
Wollongong
Sunshine Coast
Hobart
Townsville
Geelong
Cairns
Darwin

Colour list:
Black
Silver
Red
Maroon
Magenta
Purple
Royal Blue
Navy
Sky
Green
Lime
Teal
Brown
Orange
Yellow
Gold

That means if you're the 16th person to nominate, you might be a Wollongong team wearing brown or the Sunshine Coast team wearing magenta. First in best dressed.

You'll be required to create a single international rules kit, involving a sleeved jersey, footy shorts and socks using the colour you drew.

A competition logo will be in the thread.

If we don't get 16 entrants I'll allow people to have a second side.

This will be a quick comp. I'd be hoping to have entries in within a couple of weeks from today and the comp is only 4 knockout rounds, so it'll go for a couple of weeks.

1 like 1 prayer.

Is the secondary colour whatever you want it to be? Eg. Purple might be black, white, yellow or anything else?

THE AUSTRALIAN STADIUM LEAGUE

Goal: To make a multi purpose stadium in Australia (like MCG, SCG, Perth Stadium, Adelaide Oval etc)

Presentation: Either just a birds eye view or a 3d versions (similar to below however this would require sketchup)

Approximately -4-5 stadiums across different cities across Australia

Timeframe: Three weeks to design. Either knockout or league with top 2 playing in a finals or top 3 playing in finals which will be 1st plays in gf and 2nd vs 3rd for a gf spot

Designs: Stadium and logo (can be recoloured or brand new)

oh and the name of the stadium can either be traditional like MCG, SCG, Perth Stadium, Adelaide Oval, Gabba or Sponsored like Metricon Stadium, ANZ Stadium, GMHBA Stadium etc.

For a bit of fun you could if you want list teams that would play home games there or list major events to be held... im really keen for this comp! hopefully it attracts some interest as it ties away from traditional sporting kits to look at Stadium design and where they play... you could also tie this stadium to your NAFL team etc..

This sounds good in theory, but I feel like just three weeks to design for this comp (I'd assume that not too many on here would be familiar with 3d programs) might be a tough ask. I'd also like to see it open up to being worldwide so that you could get some different ideas going eg. Soccer Stadiums, Basketball Arenas, Baseball Parks etc. the restriction on it being a multi-purpose stadium in Australia could mean you don't get as wide of a variety of entries.

Should add that I'd enter if I had the time.

alright all i was going is proposing the idea... things like the timeframe, ideas and that could be figured out once we have the support also with the different types of stadiums- yes we could make it internationally and could include soccer but i would like it to stay as an oval but i just thought then that making a rectangular stadium is actually easier so we might go for that option.

OVERALL....
now i have decided it to be a rectangular stadium or (oval if you want) stadium internationally or in Australia, timeframe will definitly change and if i have alot of support we will definitly expand to as many entries as possibly then would split into pools.

Also, people can use these as a template
https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/
so for example, you can find flood lights on here, stands (or can make your own), trees, seats etc..
this is a big concern that I'd have with the comp, given there is so much on there, how do we know if people are actually designing this stuff themselves. If there is no restriction on that sort of stuff, you may as well ditch sketchup and just use the stadium creator on the Ashes Cricket game as this is going to give you a photo realistic look.

We could restrict plagiarism

We could restrict plagiarism
but then I guess you are either going to have to get people to declare where they have sourced things from and trust their word, or you are going to have to look through the 3d warehouse to see if any of that stuff has been used, which both seem like unrealistic solutions to me. The lack of experience for most posters in this will be another problem too. I think if you have someone who is experienced in this sort of thing and has access to a very expensive rendering engine then the competition is no longer competitive, and you can't penalise someone who has the skills and capability to create truly professional architechure just to keep the comp interesting.

The more I think about this, the more problems I'm finding unfortunately, because I do think that something like this could be a good bit of fun.

Alright I was just looking down a different path of stadium design but it does seem like no interest will be in to the comp however the only other option I can think of is doing a bird's eye view
