Freo never played in Nike guernseys did they?

I've looked at aflphotos of their 1997 games and their guernseys don't have the Nike tag stitched on them, and they even look woollen.

I believe that Nike provided the apparel for Freo but never actually made the guernseys. The player issues were woolen and made by Sekem but the replicas were polyester and made by Nike. Mero can correct me here of course.

When the new gradient anchor away guernsey was introduced in 1998, that's when Adidas began making all the apparel and the away guernsey (the home guernsey was still woolen until 2001)

That is mental.
It was the same with Adelaide and Collingwood. The theme is that they were all manufactured by adidas. The away guernseys had been polyester for a couple of years, but because the home guernseys were relatively simple designs, they could supposedly get away with woolen versions.

That is amazing to think That 10 years ago a team was playin in woolen .

I think its a great jumper either way. And the price represents that not 1 has been on ebay in 2 years. Did they evenwear this jumper much? I remember there was like a all red anchor one aswell

Last year playing a vs a local club i lined up on a bloke at full foward. He had a woolen on i was like wtf u wearing that granny jumper 4

Freo was definitely with Nike in the early days, not sure if that included the onfield stuff though. I remember there was always heaps of Freo stuff at the Nike store on Smith Street. All the players wore Nike boots in those days as well.

I've never heard of a red anchored FFC jumper. Even in training, I don't think we ever wore a red anchor.

I've seen plenty of Nike tracksuit tops, caps, and polos for Fremantle. They were from the inaugural season (and the next few).

Probably similar to how Puma were supplying West Coast trackies, boots and shirts from inception in 1987 but didn't make their guernseys until 1996.

I can't speak for Collingwood or Freo, but Adelaide's home jumpers were definately polyester in 1997 and later. Look at the photos below from 1997 where you can clearly see a ripple throught the sponsor logos which shows that it is sublimated into the fabric, and hence not woolen.

You are right good sir! I should have consulted with the internet rather than just going off the top of my head. Ah well. :p
