Can not see the point in going for Conca when guys like Michie can't crack a game.
To me that would be a real slap in the face to our young mids who are trying to make the grade.
Our needs are key position defenders and forwards not mid fielders.

Yes, but Freo would be looking at improving the 22 not improving the depth and Chrichton is depth at best.
Cona is good enough to be starting 22 but our mids in the 18/20 bracket may well pass him soon.

hes only 22?? still as well, just as much improvement left in him.
OK happy with this as a straight swap but we know that would not happen.
More to the point who would Conca replace in the starting 22?
would rather replace a spot made available by Cr%$#^&v with a developing or half decent established Key position player.
Like going to a buffet restaurant filling your plate with meat then doing another circuit adding more meat when you really need salad or vegies.
Ill prefer the sea food, the difficult things and expensive things to get but will have to do with the vegies which also do the job. We may want a massurati but a toyota will have to do !!! They all do their jobs just one looks better !!! and makes you feel better.
All that meat would help build muscle but you might get gout in the long run.

Turned 21 just a month ago.
No-one seems to have mentioned the really important thing here... He's a ginger. How does that fit our recruitment model?

I think Conca would be best twenty two for us. I think he will go on to be a very good player, he is still developing.
The benefit of getting him at 21/22 is that he won't be a free agent until his career is done and there is no go-home factor unless he brings his Melbourne girlfriend with him.

Maybe the recruiters don't rate the key position talent likely to be available at our first pick.
If the recruiters think only mids will be worth our first pick we might as well trade it for a mid that is more likely to improve the team now. Who's more likely to improve the team, Conca or Sheed?

Chris25's Phanton Draft suggest he will and so will McCarthy. You never know as Chris 25 is often very close.

This is the order but that could change around if Freo beat Sydney and Geelong lose to the Hawks. Then Freo will get pick 17 and if we win the GF Freo will get pick 18.

Yeah I just checked he hasn't updated Essendon he also hasn't included Adelaide but has added the GWS activated pick. Anyway it's only a phantom draft, I was just refering to it as he thinks Freo will take McCarthy with the first pick and Sheed will still be available.
