It makes you wonder if Jack "Where did he go in that big game?" Reiwoldt might have been worth more to them being traded to GWS and keeping his salary pressure off their books.

Although, Freo putting a big offer to Jack to bump up his contract before Martin and Conca were signed up could have been the plan all along.

This is exactly what some of us were saying when others were saying it was humiliating to keep making offers to players only to get rejected.

Never hurts to put a salary squeeze on your competitors. God knows they'll be lining up to do it to us when the likes of Mundy hit FA. Just have to hope our new culture is enough to make everyone want to stay for a reasonable price.

Well if we screw up an emerging threat such as Richmond for a season or two then excellent.

Agree with all the comments above about what a class player Conca is. From his first games at Perth he was just one of those players who has more time and brilliant foot skills. You can never have too many class players in your team.

I am, however, surprised at the possibility as I thought he was very happy to go over East and had settled well. He is an upgrade on Michie, Crozier and several of our other players, but I just don't see how we could get it done without compromising our greater need for Key Position players.

In no way shape or form is conca an upgrade on crozier.... No way in the world would I do that deal

my post was trying to say that those of us who focus on a big KPF above all else may miss out on a gem because our vision was focussed "up high".
Just imagine if we could nab another Fyfe at pick 18. surely we would love to skip a KPF, then look to find a later round option for a tall fella to add to the "stable"

Sorry was commenting on previous posts hence the question mark, always look to improve your list but point was when in our history has a 22 yo top 10 drafted mid not been a priority, good times.
 
Aaron Black & Reece Conca resigning on the same day. Still think we're a chance of getting Jesse White though, watch him closely guys, could be interesting. There's really no other forward left :(
