Didn't go to Stereos this year, went to the Ashes instead which saved a lot of money and had a better time then I would've at Stereos. Last years was epic though, Beetroots closing set was the shit. Got a ticket to Kings of Leon today and getting one to Eddie Vedder tomorrow. Already bought a Future Music ticket which is in March.

Things bogans do #335: add an "s" onto events or things that are not plural.

EG: "I'm going to stereoooos man, already got my sensationssss ticket as well."

unfortunately he didn't top it off by calling KOL, 'Leons'. i've heard someone call them that before, wow.

usually you have to reserve it for australian bands though: grinners, juggers, cutters etc

2010>2009 by a mile. Lineup much better and general organisation was 10 times better. Who goes to festivals perve on chicks anyway? Sure you'll have a look if a particularly attractive female passes by but by no means would i even factor it when considering the quality of the day overall.

Some people around here need to get their end away pronto.
Everyone's favourite electronica snob is here everybody!

You called? My post wasn't snobbish, but i would have to agree i am quite the music snob in general.
Nah that one wasn't I just noticed.

I loved the 09 line up personal taste I spose, with the girls we were just discussing them, of course that's not the main reason to attend festivals... and the drink card debarcle last year was a mess.

But the 10 lineup didn't do it for me at all.

I gather you prefer electro over techno? Because this years techno lineup was one of the best assembled at any festival.

Best memories are at festivals and concerts.

I don't care how mainstream the BDO now is, it is usually one of the best days of the year and it's worth the admission to see a number of good bands over 12 hours with your mates.

Going to Laneway and Future and hopefully they also harbour a good time as well.

Concerts are just the shit. Seeing bands you've been waiting to see is unbelievable. Biggest adrenaline rush.

Maybe I don't possess enough fan boy blood and that is the reason I don't rate festivals. I can't think of one band or DJ who I have a crush on and get stiff when I see them live.

LOL you better get used to forking out cash, I'm guessing in years to come you will have to pay for s shitload of hookers... maybe they will let you take some photos for a keepsake

I'm going to have to pay for hookers because I don't go to concerts? I'll be more financially secure because I'll have more money :)

Do you go see movies, or read books. After them you don't have anything to take away with you either.

Don't go to movies unless it is to catch up on friends. There is alot more you can receive from a book compared to a concert IMO, and then you can atleast read the book a million more times. Can't do that with a concert.

You are going to die with a lot of money and absolutely no memories. It will be interesting to see whether or not you are able to buy back your youth when you are old and grey.

Seriously I just do not understand people with this life outlook.

I just don't understand why I need to spend so much money to have fun? I can have memories and everything, but without paying 300$ (which is the price for a Southbound ticket this year) to watch a few people strum instruments on stage. How is that an experience?

You're right, it's much more fun to sit at home on the internet and post about things you don't like to people who don't care.

Yeah.. Like what you're doing right now? Obviously you care, otherwise you wouldn't be getting on your ****ing high horse about a throw-away paragraph. You're an idiot.

Theoretically you could tell people you "saw them live", but that would require you to know someone who would bother listening, and I'm assuming this is not the case. Either way, to answer your question, I usually don't need to tell people I saw something live. I, like 99% of the people who do enjoy going to festivals and concerts, tend to do go to them with friends- something else you wouldn't know much about, it seems.

I laughed. Piss weak effort mate. But either way, why do you need to spend $300 to spend time with friends? Pretty stupid I think. What "experiences" do you get from this festival that you went to because your friends go to, compared to just chilling with them somewhere else? I guess being felt up, sweated against, and listening/dancing/whatever to a few bands for a few hours, which you could do at home, counts as experiences? And you pay $300 for that?

What do you end up with after a good meal, a good shag, a great sporting event, a night out with friends..?

Wow, you're really boring, aren't you?

More money than if I went to a concert. I can have great "experiences" doing all these, without spending $300 for it. Just because I don't want to spend $300 to go to a concert doesn't make me boring. I feel that I can have fun without spending this amount of money. A good shag is free (unless you have to resort to prostitutes), a good meal doesn't really faze me that much tbh, food is all food. Great sporting event is good, because I am very involved in the teams I support. That's probably a reason that I don't like concerts - because I don't follow bands like I follow football teams. Don't have the same strive towards bands.

I enjoy saving money. Doesn't make me boring. I probably make what you make a year right now working retail. "People who don't have money, spend money."[/quote]

Does lewigie ever go to the footy? And if he does, is it just so he can get a footy record?

:D:thumbsu: but no, I go to the footy because I love my football team. I don't love bands, but I love West Coast.

Basically how I feel.

Memories > Money

Agreed, but I just don't find concerts riveting, or really that exciting. I don't get enough "memories" from them. They're alright, but I'd rather the money tbh.

what music do you like?
A very general question... I couldn't name a single band or DJ and say I like most things they make... I like some old stuff from DJ Yoda. Sebastian Ingrosso and Axwell before they started playing ear cancer electro. Gang Star - Moment of Truth album, Mos Def and Talib Kwali's old album, Krafty Kuts as well. 2 many DJs used to do some mashups that I liked. Sasha and Digweed when they did the Involver stuff and some older Cafe Del Mar & Buddha Bar albums.

I've been living and working in South America the past 1.5 years so I got into brazilian and spanish music. O'Rappa, Seu Jorge, Putamayo albums, Giles Peterson in brazil, Bosa Nova, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Macaco Bong.

I can't stand listening to electro, drives me mental and gives me a headache.

I still don't think you have any friends but if you did manage to convince anyone to hang out with you a movie would be a good place. At least at a cinema there's a smaller likelyhood of having a conversation- something you're obviously useless at :)

I just don't understand why I need tol spend so much money to have fun? I can have memories and everything, but without paying 300$

Yeah, $300 is "so much money". That's like, one entire Centrelink check!

I laughed. Piss weak effort mate. But either way, why do you need to spend $300 to spend time with friends?

Big day out's like half of that, and no, I don't need to spend that to hang out with friends- but a day drinking in the sun, listening to amazing music and checking well dressed women- it's worth it, and more to the point, my friends and I aren't homeless and peniless bums :)

Wow, you're really fixated on your $300, aren't you?

To answer your question though, a festival that goes for 2 or 3 days involves a lot more than just listening/dancing/whatever to a few bands for a few hours- and no, I couldn't do that at home. And why would I want to anyway?

Ok mate, I'm really, really sorry for you now. PM me your Paypal address and I'll throw you a few coins.

I probably make what you make a year right now working retail. "People who don't have money, spend money."

How do people who don't have money spend any? That doesn't even make sense.

Anyway, nice chatting... Enjoy your retail job Lewgie- sounds like it's working out swell for you.

Pretty much the same as me but sub shine on for strawberry fields and i'm not going to soundwave. Will be on a boat NYD seeing Quarion, shit will get real.

How was Strawberry Fields? Both Shine on and Strawbs had stellar line ups but I heard shitty things about the organisation of Strawberry Fields last year, and in any case, I trust the organisers of Rainbow a lot :)

Shine On had an incredible production, and a great venue, unfortunately the terrain didn't cope with the weather at all. Shame, really, it would have otherwise been pretty special.
