Well that was a much more enjoyable game of qooty! There were some season-best performances and some timely returns to form. Let's take a peek under the hood...



Come get y'all Hot Takesᵀᴹ:

• TheInjuryFactory is the first Wazza this season to hit four figures in DT points, while DockerDen5215 is close to joining TIF in having > 1000 Exie things;
• Seven weeks out has definitely not slowed Lord_Flashheart down, with his 26 disposal/7 mark game almost a season best for the inaugural Frankston Rover Medallist. Flashy also has the highest average handballs and the third-highest disposal average;
• There were season best games from ChappyUK Moo RelaxMax and Snuffaluphagus last week, impressive efforts all;
• BEEG and zackah have kicked at least a goal in every game they've played, the only two Wazzas to do so this season. Freofalcon has registered a goal in his last 8 games, and toxic kicked his first goals of the season last week.

Drags this week, we're absolutely due a win against them so let's get out there and slay the scaly shittrucks!!!

Round 11
Wazzas v vs Baghdad Bombers at Abdu Prison

Someone please fill in the blanks. Or don't. It was the Bombers after all.

Round 11 and we ventured to the eloquently named Abdu Prison to tackle the Bombers.

A six goal to two first quarter saw us on the backfoot from the start, and despite holding them goalless in the second quarter, they still took a slender 5 point lead into the main break. From there we could only manage a paltry three goals to their five, as they prevailed in a particularly uninspiring affair.

Another loss on the trot saw us fall two places down the ladder to 11th spot and in danger of the wooden spoon zone with just a third of the season left to play.

Round 12
Wazzas vs Mount Buller Demons at Snow Dome

We brought the Dees to a screeching halt on Sunday.

Round 12 and we headed to the Snow Dome to tackle the formidable league leading Mount Buller outfit who have conquered all before them once again this season, including us in Round 1. With a handful of up and about rookies, it was a new look Dees that welcomed us during the week.

When it came to the qooty, we got the jump on the Dees, with a four goal burst in the first enough to see us take a handy lead into the first change. Despite a fightback, we managed to stay in the hunt with a wayward Demons kicking five goals five to take a 7 point lead into the break. We surprised the hosts in the third quarter as we piled on a whopping eight goals to two to take a commanding 32 point lead into the final stanza with all the momentum with us. We managed to stave off the home side in the last, and with the win sealed the Dees put some score on the board in junk time to eek out some respectability, but in the end we cruised to a 20 point victory to keep our season alive.

So the plucky win sees us once again inch our way out of the cellar, but we still find ourselves a game and percentage adrift of the top eight in ninth spot, with ever diminishing chances left to secure back to back finals campaigns for the first time since S27.

• DockerDen5215 is the Diesel Williams of Coney Island, giving off more handballs than anyone else this season. He's also received the wrath of the qumpires more than anyone else, although Volbeat is making a late charge;​
• Only eight tackles for TheInjuryFactory last week, but that's enough for him to raise the tackle bat (don't google that btw);​
• BEEG and zackah have still kicked at least one goal in every match they've played, while the GOAT has still played 100% of game time for the games he's played;​
• Both Dinsdale and Freofalcon had season-high disposal counts last week, while Tiger Bob had a career best half of qooty;​
• Poor old Raveneyes managed to get a dozen Qrispy Qremes despite 100% game time.​

Round 13
Wazzas vs Dragons FFC at Van Cortlandt Park

The Dragons.

Round 13 and we hosted a Dragons side looking to consolidate a top two finish, as we looked to push our way into the eight late in the season.

A typical Dragons week ensued, with lots of hearty no u's and inactivity banter, I imagine. Game wise, it was another typical Dragons clash. A five goal to nil first quarter ensuring we would start on the back foot and have to claw our way back into the contest. While we closed in and were in striking distance at the final break, the Dragons were once again too good and ran away 38 point winners to claim top spot while we missed a golden chance to sneak into the top eight with other results falling our way.

So we still find ourselves perilously close to the wooden spoon, yet bizarrely still an outside chance to play finals with 3 rounds remaining.

Two rounds remain. We can technically still make finals even though we find ourselves as the strongest team in the Sweet FA (you know, because we're holding up the rest of the table). So if anybody has any suggestions on who and/or what to sacrifice in the next couple of weeks then I'm all ears. Anyhoo, here's how the individual stats look:

• Piggy Smalls kicked his first goal for the club;
• Everything else has remained the same regarding who's done the most this or got the most that.

Hope is not lost Wazzas. It's probably down the back of the couch, but it's around somewhere. I can smell it.
