Notorious B.I.G. is not the best rapper of all time, or even close to it.
One of the best, Jay-Z is also one of the best. Beyonce had the greatest video of all time.

Come at me with who is bro..

Listen to Biggies verse from Notorious Thugz and tell me he aint the best.

EDIT: also Jay Z was ok before he turned into the ******* he is today. Definitely not the best though. These days he is nothing.

Biggie was a ****ing great rhymer, however a few things work against him:

a) He was commercial in terms of his subject matter, which backpackers don't like.

b) He only released 2 studio albums, so hardly any time to create as big an impact as someone with a doscography spanning decades.

In terms of technical ability though, he was bloody superb.

Well he only released one album, the other was released after his death.

Skill wise IMO he is the best, and that was what the argument was.

Big Pun aint half bad either, skills wise.

It was still a studio album nonetheless, even if he died 2-3 weeks before its release.

Studio albums are what counts in the discography when you're discussing great artists.

All other types pale in significance in such a discussion (though that's not to say that a live album for example cannot illustrate talent).

Throw in Ice T aswell

Left a few out, particularly group MC's. All better than Eminem, Dre, Pac, Biggie etc.

Dre isn't a rapper, he's a producer who raps.
Agree that Pac ain't that good
Eminem chops most of the rappers you listed
Biggie is the best.

Depends on what aspects.

Your lists seems to be biased against anyone with a mainstream image.

Would love to discuss this further in the hiphop thread on the music board.

To the hip hop thread!!! Most of the guys over there are ignorant indie rap kids anyway.

I have skippy the kangaroo on the tv in the background as a light source at the moment.

Just read that, lulz were had.

A big problem with most hip hop fans is their lack of ability to recognise that within hip hop there are sub-genres and all hiphop isn't the same (unlike pop music :D)
Personally I'm a gangsta rap fan, but anything with a good beat im a sucker for.

Anyway back on track, In about year 8 I may or may not have started/supported rumours that some guy put peanut butter on his testicles and got his dog to lick it off.
Pretty sure he still cops shit for it to this day.
