Fifa 08 Wii remains the worst video game I've ever bought. Alongside Mario Strikers Charged and A Bug's Life.

I own both a PS3 and Wii and this is crap. Sounds like the opinion of an insecure 15 year old who wants to look cool in front of his friends.

While I'll admit I prefer the PS3 if you can't find something you like on the Wii you're (like the majority of gamers) aren't looking hard enough. Some of the quality games on the console:

Fire Emblem (love the series)

Monster Hunter Tri

Admittedly there aren't many good sports game on the console (Fifa sucks) but Pro Evolution, NBA Jam and Tiger Woods are decent titles. Not many options if your an RPG or shooter fan (though Metroid's awesome if you classify it as such) unfortunately.

Many years ago I went to a Kylie (? or maybe savage garden) concert with my (as of night before) ex-gf. I went in hoping to "fix" the relationship, and walked out with a dozen phone numbers tattoed on my body. (To the point I had no idea who half of them were, had to meet in public places....even then it was a struggle).

I own 3 fifa games: fifa 99 road to world cup (lol), fifa 09 wii, fifa 11 wii.

09 is/was awesome, true, but it doesn't feel like an actual game of soccer, you can pretty much score from anywhere at anytime and the AI are spuds unless you tell them to make a run.

You definitely have to be more patient with 11 and build up an attack but the AI actually have a clue and its still a solid game. End of the day FIFA is FIFA, can't really go wrong with any of them imo.

It sends my inner Costanza into a fury knowing Wii are pocketing the difference from a game that would have cost them sweet **** all to make. Also, the 09 scoring requires self discipline, and the game has a better feel to it than 11, passing and tackling etc. 08 and 09 are the best Wiifa games available.

Solid points, but the only thing that really effects me is that games online seem to be over in 5 mins, never really play around with camera angles or any of the other options. 09 was the shit though, won't be easy to beat.

True that you are really limited with options in 11 on wii, I guess they trying to get everyone to fork out an extra 20 bucks for the PS3 or xbox versions lulz.

I'd also play Wii if you gave me a million dollars.

a) note the "generally" i used
b) if you look for a good PS3/360 game as hard as you look for a good Wii game, i can assure you that the PS3/360 game will be infinitely better. My sister owns a wii, and it is the sort of console where you enjoy it for a week, maybe 2, then pack it away for months. Find a good PS3/360 game like Fallout, COD, Forza, etc. and it will entertain you for months.

this reminds me of the time i bought two PS2 game out of one of the bargain bins at EB. They were Simpsons Skateboarding and Surfing H3O. They cost 9 bucks for the 2 of them, and i laughed the entire time i played the 2 purely because of how bad they were

Unless you have some aversion to being around drunk people I don't really see it being a problem. I find I usually get on better with people who are drunk than I do with those who aren't.

It's people who don't drink, but make a big deal out of it that are the problem. If you don't want to drink, then don't - just don't make it your whole social identity.

Agree with that. It's like one of the guys I know, he's 'straight edge'. Essentially, doesn't drink, do drugs, have sex or pretty much anything fun. He's an alright bloke, he doesn't act like a boring old geizer, still gambles, into his sport, and punk rock music (not exactly my cup of tea, especially the 'straight edge' punk rockers). Just sometimes it appears like he does it to look down on everyone and ridicule anyone that does those things, essentially saying we're a disgrace to our generation kinda thing.

Then he bangs on about religion and how it's a crock of shit. Exposing it with all his athiest beliefs. I swear Athiests know more about religion than the Catholics themselves

Exactly. You dont have to be drinking to do fun shit with your mates. If people ask me if I want a drink, I just say "nah, im alright". Dont make a big hoo-ha about it, telling my life story on why I dont drink.
Anyway, it all spawns from a bit of a shit childhood caused by alcohol, but that it a tale I would rather not share with GD
