can't deny he deserved another year based on this years form. Still one of our best players but I fear he's going to be laboring next year. There were signs this year and that's usually a dead set giveaway of things to come.

It could also impact the the chances of Bates, Gore or Smedts getting games next year. If their form in the VFL warrants selection, I doubt Boris will be playing VFL no matter how poor his form becomes.

I'm happy for him to continue, his form taken over the whole season certainly warrants another contract.
However,I thought Enright might have made the call himself to end it this year while he was still playing to a high standard.
There have certainly been telltale signs over the past 2 seasons that he is slipping from his usual standards.
Glad he is onboard for 2016,just worry his body and mind wont go the journey.

Massive and great thing. Great for Boris. Great for the club. Great for the fans.

You have to wonder if the extra month off to relax played a role in the decision for next year.

Im sure he will be a bit up and down next year but his ups will again outnumber the downs.

Lets hope we can get Boris out with another September run….

GO Catters
Has had a slow start to the last two seasons. Watch the knives come out if he starts slowly again in 2016!

Yes I wouldn't call him average as a rover. Good outside and had his moments in and under. Although lightly framed. His kicking wasn't as good as his brothers. Can't remember why he got squeezed out of the midfield? Age? Better players?
Fred may enlighten us...
Just a new coach trying something different and it worked is how I remember it,don't think he was squeezed out at all.

I wonder if they'll have Bartel sorted out and announced by the end of the day?
Nah- the boys in HQ have probably scheduled one meeting a day.
He might be next week.

I'm surprised that there's not been much said about Jimmy resigning. There was a fair bit of angst when others who'd indicated they would sign, had not done so but not much emotion around Jimmy's impending signature. Why would that be, do you think?

Smedts, perhaps - but I have to admit that they're not exactly bashing down the door in the small defender stakes at the moment.

It's likely that most/all of us assumed he's going to be playing on with us, given they didn't announce his farewell along with the other three.

There was more angst around those who we weren't sure would sign on with us (Kolo, Motlop, even Blicavs had some doubters), or Enright who most of us assumed would retire.

3 premierships a Brownlow popular with fairer sex and a bloody good bloke he maybe weighing up a media opportunity against a one year contract. That's nothing more than a guess.

I saw an interview he did with Eric Nicholls, where he said he was getting a little bit slower at the same time as they were looking for another defender.
