You have to be with a club for 8 years to be a free agent.
jackess is right. It's based off your stay with your current club.Don't think so, 8 years in the comp, shouldn't matter which Club they are played with

Correct.Pretty surprised by that really, what would be the case then if a player had played for say 11 years but with 3 different Clubs, are you saying that player won't be a FA?

Edit: Well, unless the first two clubs are in his first three years and the last eight were with the same club.
A good example would be Chris Judd then, and going off the system he doesn't qualify for FA until next year, I just find that surprising is all
I think FA is basically intended as a reward (to the player) for loyalty and service much like long-service leave is for regular employees. Judd received his reward/benefit when he changed clubs ($1 million + salary from Carlton)
Assuming we do pick up Mitch Robinson - my reading of the info on this thread is that would mean we still have 1-3 senior spots left to fill and 3-5 rookie spots left to fill.
Is that correct?
