I also feel that I would need to figure out exactly how the Jake King joke works.

I can explain that - I was personally involved in its inception.

When the Lions were thinking of getting involved with Martin, I suggested it wouldn't be a good idea because of his known off-field issues. I mentioned a few reasons and included the fact that he "invited some bikies into the rooms after a win against the Lions".

I was then quickly informed by about 35 people that it was in fact Jake King who did that.

Those two guys have always blended into one for me. In fact, all of the players from Richmond apart from Rielwoldt seem to be the one guy.

Yep, exact quote was:

"Brisbane have delisted key forward Aaron Cornelius.

The 23-year-old Tasmanian has been a dominant figure in the NEAFL but managed just 35 goals in 25 games at AFL level, including just three games in 2013."

I'm guessing it's been reported elsewhere too, but I hadn't heard it.

With Cornelius, Yeo, Longer, Karnezis, Docherty, Polec, McKeever and Black out and an existing spare slot, we have nine senior positions to fill.

West, Paine and Freeman come in, giving us six positions free.

That gives us draft picks of 7, 22, 25, 28, 33, 34.

This is pending any rookie upgrades, e.g. Clarke, or free agent recruitments, e.g. McGuane.

Isn't that cause we traded it for West?

Doesn't Clarke basically have to be upgraded given he signed a 3 year deal?

Nope. McKeever signed a two year deal which included one year on the rookie list. Having said that, my expectation is that he gets upgraded because he just looked so at home at AFL level.

Updated after trade week.

Key information
* Currently have 7 senior list spots free prior to the draft (not including Freeman who will take one of those spots)
* Picks are 7, 22, 25, 28, 33, 34, 63
* We cannot take another player via delisted FA/PSD unless we plan to pass on pick 34 or delist someone off the senior list
* 3 rookie list spots free, 1 being a category B (which we'll use to take a Queenslander I assume)
* Next important date is Thursday 31st October, the first list lodgement. We'll find out whether we delist anyone else (we can delist further at a later date), or upgrade any rookies (likely Clarke)
* Draft is on the Thursday 21st November, with the rookie draft the following Wednesday 27th November

This is how I see our senior list changes.
Ins: 6 picks, McGuane, Paine, West, Clarke, Freeman
Outs: Black, McKeever, Cornelius, Banfield, Close (rookie list), Homesick 5

We have one free spot from last year so one more 'in' than 'out'. I would absolutely love us to give Joel Wilkinson or Tom Ledger a go. Surely they are better prospects than Polkinghorne  Close could be rookied to give us some flexibility. He's not pushing for senior selection anyway so I don't think it will matter too much.
Those that said list spots wouldn't be an issue were dead wrong. This was never going to be the case with Kerr's customary trading of late picks for established role players and the picks we were receiving for the sooks. Unless we upgraded quite a lot (something I'm glad we didn't do) then guys like Ace, Banfield and McKeever still would not have their chances of staying improved at all.

Bolded is a bit weird. Firstly because he is only one year into his contract and secondly because he has been playing pretty well in the two's by all reports after coming back from injury.
