Welcome CONFIRMED - Nathan Kreuger to join Geelong (pick 42 to Carlton)

Nathan Krueger (South Adelaide)
An explosive athlete, Krueger was overlooked in last year's national and rookie draft, but has put that disappointment aside to have an impressive season for South Adelaide. The exciting 19-year-old forward, who stands 196cm, has kicked 15 goals from nine league games. Was electric in a game against Central District, booting 3.1 from 10 disposals (nine contested possessions) and four inside 50s, but it's the three contested marks that would have got scouts interested. He's been invited to the SA Draft Combine and is one to watch.

Isn't he one of the kids you were keen on last year, Ratcat ?

Seems like a reasonable pickup to me, we needed to bring in talls with our delistings.

Yes he was, l thought his o/head was terrific and he could really shift.
Think he can make it with his talent and more importantly his attitude looks to be what we're looking for.
Happy with that call by Wells.

That was unexpected.

What are the rules? Is he considered a senior listed draftee?

I don’t get this trade.
Is it seriously a promising 19 year old athletic KPF for pick 42 is does 42 give us he ability to draft him?
Seems way unders?

Geelong’s list manager Stephen Wells said the Cats were keen to pounce on the opportunity to snare the athletic Kreuger before the draft.

“Clubs have got to be open to every opportunity that comes their way and that rule that was brought in for Carlton and Gold Coast has given another little opportunity,” Wells said.

“We have perhaps jumped the queue for getting Nathan on our list before the draft.

“Nathan is a player we have been following for a few years now. Last year, in our opinion, he was unlucky not to be given some sort of opportunity at the AFL club.

“As it has turned out, it might have been the best thing for him. He has gone back and played some terrific senior football for South Adelaide, he has been well coached at that club and in the South Australian system.

“Now we think he is ready to get to an AFL club and put his best foot forward.”
