IMO a lot of you Carlton people seem bitter. A week ago you were keen and eager about bradshaw and what he could deliver to your club. Now that he's picked the swans its all about him being soft, and not really worth it. I'm going to clear up some of the pathetic excuses you've made for Bradshaw picking us instead of you.

a) The suggestion we offered more money is rubbish. It's clearly stated in the media that Carlton and Sydney offered two very similar deals.

b) The fact he wants to play with an older list is also rubbish. Most of our veterans have retired this year. He's presented with a much younger list especially in the forwards.

c) He's being a cop out by playing for a club many of you believe won't see the finals. Bullshit. At the end of the season we were a highly competitive unit who took Brisbane, St Kilda and Geelong to less than a goal difference. If we had won just 1/2 of those we would have been in the finals right with your team. Slagging off the swans in an attempt to pass off your own insecurities about your forward line in 2010 is pretty low.

I think his really reasons are:

a) He doesn't want to have the scrutiny of being compared to fev.

b) As suggested in the article ( http://www.realfooty.com.au/news/ge...ans-to-bradshaw/2009/10/25/1256405305904.html) he knew quite a few people from the swans

c) Sydney's lifestyle is not too different from Brisbane. The swans talked about how they showed him around the city and schools. Maybe presented the 'good place for your family' argument better than Carlton??

Anyway, it must have been a very close, line-ball decision. There are probably a great number of pros and cons for each club, but we should respect his decision. Not take cheap shots and him and his preferred team.

Like a lot of oppostion supporters who post on here you pick out the one or two inflammatory statements, and ignore the rational majority. I don't know how you earn a crust, but I'm sure a promising career in journalism awaits should you wish to pursue it.

a) The suggestion we offered more money is rubbish. It's clearly written about in the media that Carlton and Sydney offered two very similar deals.
Agreed to a point, though I wouldn't base too much on what has been written in the media. With a contract such as this there is a fair bot of devil in the detail.

b) The fact he wants to play with an older list is rubbish. Most of our veterans have retired this year. He's presented with a much younger list especially in the forwards.
Don't think this is a factor, or at very most a small one. Pretty sure you guys would still have the oldest listi n the comp...agree?

And as you correctly pointed out above you have just off-loaded a lot of ability and experience. Hall, Micky O, Jolly. Fair to suggest that most pundits would have you in the bottom eight for 2010 wouldn't you agree?

I doubt comparisons to Fevola had anything to do with the decision. We can only assume that money and opportunity would be similar at both clubs, though most would agree he is more of a chance to play finals and have a potential crack at a flag at Carlton.

I think it came down to where does he want to live and raise a family. He's renowned for shunning the spotlight, and to a fair extent Sydney offers this. He has nowhere near the profile of a Lockett or Hall and will be able to go about his business with relative anonymity.

Apart from adding that I think you should mind your manners on an oppostion board I say let's move on. Sydney pick up a reasonably good player for nicks, Carlton lose nothing, Brisbane lose plenty...play on

I suppose opposition supporters choose to highlight particular inflammatory comments because they degrade their team and their players. Naturally, opposition supporters would like to defend their team, like your defending yours. :thumbsu:

I think all your points are valid, but I'd question your consideration that the swans have the oldest list. Of the 35 players on our list 11 are older than 25, but only 1 is older than 30 (stalwart Brett Kirk). Of Carlton's 35, 10 are older than 25. Comparatively, We're not THAT old...

'Mind my manners' you say? I don't think I was very rude at all. Not nearly as rude as those few people taking unvalidated pot-shots at my team. I'm merely giving my opinion which I believe is well justified. I don't really get the touchiness on the Big Footy boards. It's not a very good culture if as soon as one person posts a comment that isn't to your liking you feel like you have to threaten them? If it means anything, though I suspect it won't, I'm not here to be rude, just give a conflicting, but valid, perspective.

Anyway, its ironic you say I'd do well in journalism, because currently I'm aiming to be involved in diplomacy. :D

I agree, lets leave it at that. :thumbsu:
