I really hope you all eat your words if we win a flag in the next 4 years. You call yourself supporters but all you are like is affraid to change and take a risk.
The Facts- 1) Polak was going to walk
2) Medhurst or Polak(atm) wasnt in our best 25
3) Tarrant will take pressure off Pav(they cant dbl team now)
4) Gives us the best forward line in the comp.

I have always stated that i wanted Polak to stay and have been a fan of Medhurst's but in the end we were going to get nothing for Polak and have strenthened our team with a player who comes in our best 22 which means someone loses their spot and now have to work hard to get back.

Everyone says its a super draft but why is that.
There could be some jets, which we wouldnt have got at 13 but i would say mainly cos it runs deep with good players. Alot of these players probably wont be stars but will be good contributors which just means its a deep draft but ppl like to call it SUPER DRAFT and everyone jumps on it.

All in all stop knocking the club for trying to get a flag and be true supporters

lol trust you to have a pessimistic view Kapow. I've never seen you be optimistic about anything :)

By the way, Tarrant is nothing like Croad. Croad was completely unproven when we got him. We weren't a good side. There was enourmous pressure on him to kick goals.

Tarrant won't be the main target and will lead up the ground which he does exceptionally well. The last time he played that role, he was an AA and considered one of the top players in the AFL.

How are we worse off in 2007? We lost 2 players not in our best 25 and gained a player who will be one of our best.

We gave up pick 13 for pick 42 which is unfortunate but if you look at the history of drafts and particularly ours, our latter draft picks have been just as solid as our initial picks.

Well once again, Freo are the laughing stock of trade week.
We've got no first round picks in a super draft and given up both our trade baits for a key forward we don't really need.
We needed a midfielder and a key position player that can play both ends.

2 highly tradable commodities for 1 bloke who's head isn't in the right place!

I hope I'm wrong but Tarrant will be Croad mark 2!!

Way To Go!!

If you trade for Soloman it will be like the final garnish.

Effectively we've f***ed our 2007 shot with this one trade. Well done Freo.

FYI for those thinking this will allow Pav to play out of the square just what do you think he's been doing for the past 10 matches? Tarrant is as useless to us as, well, Croad. He is exactly like Croad
Disagree, I reckon we have improved our 2007/8 shot at the cost of what comes after.

Tarrant is much more likely to perform than Croad, he has been doing it for 8 seasons. Croad was mostly potential when we picked him up.

We got screwed. Again. Medhurst and Polak and our first round pick in the superdraft for f***ing Tarrant? ARGGGH!!!

I didn't want the bastard at the club to begin with and no he's costed us way too much.

What was happening was Pav being tripled teamed against Syd but with Tarrant they cant do that.
After those comments i hope you arnt supporting the dockers next season as we dont need supporters like you

Is there a general consensus that if freo dont get a flag while Tarrant is around we stuffed up?

Interesting to see who these players we could have had are. Then compare the picks we handed over to Headland, J Carr, Croad/McPharlin and now Tarrant.

Conolly has a long history so far of drafting for the near future.

Essentially Conolly is either going to become a legend of the club, or its biggest Villian.

Murphy, Dunn, Mundy and Campbell all in the one year??

Sabre that is your view and you have made it very clear.
CC drafted for the future in his first 4 years now he is building for now you can always build for the future cos it will never come with that mentality.

Very happy to be wrong.
A Premireship would be awsome.

Cant help but be concerned about the future though now..

Its all theoretical at the moment.

No one can say for certain.

Now can people realise that they were over valuing Polly and Medders?
Haha, I may have overvalued Medders but I was off Polak for quite some time.

In fact I still rate Medders and think he will probably do alright at Collingwood. I will watch him with interest - except when we play our one game per season against them.

That's a pretty simplified view of it sabre.

A hell of lot has to go right for any team to win a flag. It's not mathematical.

The trade for Tarrant has put Freo in a better position then they would have been without him, to have a tilt at the flag in the next few years. Therefore, I'm pretty happy with it.

Sure if we don't get a flag and it looks like our window has closed, it will look like a pretty significant f-up, but that's hindsight for you.

Agreed.
Do you not think we were a chance as it is without Tarrant?

Exactly.
Surely you can understand why some supporters are extremely worried considering what we have been through i the past.
I for one dont want to be down the bottom of the ladder again anytime soon.

But the Tarrant deal coupled with a number of others has meant we have traded away many early picks...

I'm with you Cam. Bring on 2007! Let's be positive.

Welcome to Fremantle Chris! You're gonna love the expanses of Subi Oval and be a star!

I think Chris will be great for Fremantle he will be sorely missed at Collingwood. Fremantle might find that some Collingwood supporters will follow Chris, as I will. What would be even better if Fremantle take his younger brother Robbie in the November draft.

Folks it is a gamble not laughing stock stuff.

Tarrant is a very reasonable player - concerns are age, salary, off-field behaviour. Pluses are he is a proven performer, has a ton of talent and will make our team better.

We are going for that flag ....we are now better in the next season, the price will be paid and will be judged in about 4 or 5 years time.

What I dont see people acknowleding is that we can now push McPharlin back permanently.

Parker Haddrill Hayden

Grover McPharlin Mundy

Backline Bench - Drum, Thornton, Johnson

Forward Line

Crowley Pav Tarrant

Farmer Murphy JLo (resting)

With effectively the same midfield as got into a prelim (and there is room for growth their in Peake, Sandi and hopefully a fit Has)

All aboard for the ride ...I got my ticket.
