Dan Gosling's gone to Newcastle on Free Transfer.
Will earn £25,000-a-week apparently.

He might get more first team action but nor sure he will progress as well as a player as he might have under Moyes at Everton...

An injury-free Joe Cole is more than a handy player.

Liverpool supporters are shattered because that means he won't be able to reach his best again. We all know that he played his best football against them and often scored the winning goal to sink them.

Eduardo clinches £6m move from Arsenal to Shakhtar Donetsk as Gunners mull new move for Loic Remy

Eduardo da Silva has completed a £6million move from Arsenal to Shakhtar Donetsk after passing a medical with the Ukrainian champions.

The Croatia striker has signed a four-year contract understood to be worth about £50,000 a week, as first revealed by Sportsmail.

Eduardo leaves the Emirates Stadium three years after joining from Dinamo Zagreb in £7.5million deal.

The 27-year-old failed to hold down a regular place with the Gunners last season as he struggled to regain form and fitness following a shocking double leg break at Birmingham City in February 2008.

He was nonetheless popular among team-mates and fans at Arsenal and there has not been a shortage of well wishers as he embarks on a new challenge.

The signing is a coup for Shakhtar, who earlier this month re-signed defender Dmytro Chyrgrynskiy from Barcelona for £12.5million before turning their attention to bringing in a quality centre forward for their Champions League campaign.

Aston Villa had expressed an interest in the Brazil-born striker, but Shakhtar got their man after negotiations lasting a week.

Jones is new £8m Stoke star
Published: 11 Aug 2010

STOKE have splashed out a club record £8million to sign Kenwyne Jones from Sunderland.
The lofty 6ft 2in striker spent the day hammering out a deal with the Potters before passing a club medical.

Delighted Britannia Stadium boss Tony Pulis said: "Kenwyne is unplayable on his day, which is why this is a fantastic signing for this football club.

"We need goals in our team and we also need strong competition among our strikers if we are to continue improving at this level.

"Kenwyne will give us that. It's no secret that I am one of his biggest admirers.

"He did a smashing job for us when he was here on loan. He was very young back then but I believe that he has the best years ahead of him as a top striker."

Jones cited his previous spell with the Potters, where he scored three goals in 13 appearances, as a key factor behind his decision to join the club on a permanent basis.

The 25-year-old admited: "The fact that I know the manager, some of the players and the place so well has obviously been an influence upon me coming here.

"This is an exciting new chapter in my career and I want to do my best for a club that has clearly had great success since I was last here.

"I am looking forward to the challenge of helping Stoke build upon the progress they have made over the past two years in the Premier League."

The fee surpasses the previous record of £6m that Stoke paid to Middlesbrough for defender Robert Huth last summer.

Is there a sell on clause Sainter?

I'm not sure if Sunderland have one. I don't think we have.

It seems a bit of a bizarre transfer. He was getting linked to Liverpool and Spurs for twice that amount last season and Bruce wouldn't have a bar of it.

Suddenly it's as if they couldn't get him out the door quick enough!

That makes it about 6 ex-Saints in their starting XI now.

Seems as though Milner's finally off to City.

£26 million transfer fee (actually £16-18 million) & £1 million payout to Ireland, who makes his way to Villa Park.

Manchester City agree deal to sign James Milner from Aston Villa

guardian.co.uk said:
James Milner's protracted transfer to Manchester City has finally been agreed, with Stephen Ireland moving to Aston Villa as part of the deal in a package worth about £26m. Milner was heading to Manchester this afternoon for a medical, having already agreed personal terms with City on a lucrative long-term contract that will see him more than double his salary at Villa Park.

Sad to see him go, but £16-18mill + Ireland is a decent swap.
