Given that G4E is a confessed Star Wars addict, and that his name portras a character in Epiosde2, it is obviously G4E.
Apparently, Jango Fett is the father of Boba Fett, and he uses himself to be the human, that all other clones are designed from (thus begins the Clone wars). Jango takes the first Clone, Boba Fett, as his son. Jango, apparently is killed by Mace Windu (Samuel L Jackson) in a big arena towards the end of the movie.
Once again G4E's writing style has made it obvious to pick him. Is he stupid or what !

I think in the situation as just played out in USA their system might be better (did I just say that ???? hmmmmm better lie down.)
If you had the same situation here eg a tied house of reps with 1 undecided seat, coming down to a few votes....
1. The Prime Minister would be decided by a group of people who did not vote for him (or her). They voted for someone they probably have never heard of (an old union thug, or someone who bought their way onto the lib ticket). They clearly do not know who they are voting for. At least in Florida MOst [\b] of the votors voted for either Gore or Bush....and they got one of them.
2. With our preferential voting system, the person who won that seat could well have recieved less votes...even if they were all counted. Our system really is who do you hate the least, when it comes to close elections.
The thing I found most repulsive in the USA thing was that the parties would try to get cases in juristictions because the judges were Democrats or Republicans. What happened to separation of powers ?
Also all of the election officials were party appointed. A big tick for the Australian Electoral Commission !!

A couple of points :

Clinton wanted to introduce a national medi system similar to our medicare but the Repub-controlled something or other blocked it.
I'm glad I'm where I am and I don't care what we are, as long as we're not THEM.

You can still have a republic with a Westminster system, albeit without the Crown.
While you have a right to your opinion it is not wise to pass judgement on a republic because of what happend in one particular country.
Okay normally i steer clear of politics buta couple of points,

Here at least it would be a vote of collected representatives that the communtity as a whole has elected to choose that leader, or vote him/her if it comes to that too. Not by a legal system that bounces from upper to lower courts where glorified laywers (bbrrr) decide what my intent would have been with my vote.

What I said is that ive personally yet to see a better alternative to the system we in Australia currently have. The sytsem being put forward last year didnt give us the option of the Westminster form. If it had i probably would have voted for it.
Until i do see that there is an alternative and believe it to be a better system than the one we currently have, then i will vote to keep the Westminster system. Thats my opinion and as you say, in a Democracy im entitiled to it.

Can anyone explain in relation to our political parties, eg liberal and labour. Which is what with republican or Democrat.
Ron. They're both screaming right wing compared to most other countries. Democrats would be the most 'liberal' which in their terms means left.
Take Gore's consession speech - Kept going on about america being united again - by this he meant friendly countries around the world had better watch out ! He didn't even mention enemies !
I think America is one scary country ! Some reasons:
They are the only country to drop an A-bomb on another country - thank gor other countriae still have some weapons - or they might have dropped a few more !
They would have dropped more bombs, chemicals on other countries than ANY other country in history
Because they have all the capital and big guns they are forcing other countrie's work forces to be more efficient (poor) while their own workforce gets lazier and lazier

But the remarks about Bush Jr being a puppet of Bush Sr are a bit wide. He sounds exacltly like Reagan to me . Is he Reagan's love child ?

BUT, the yanks refer to a liberal government in reverse to how we would view it, hence their Democrats are more identifiable with our Labour, and their Republicans are more identifiable with our Liberal party.
Apparently, they WERE both right-wing, but for the Democrats to win any chance to vie for government at all, they have over the past years bowed to industry and big-wig company preference, and dulled themselves down to a much more conservative model.
Reagan was, from argument, an inexcusable moron who happened to win the redneck vote with what appeals to the easily-amused as 'charisma'. It seems as though he was, perhaps, 'cute', to the lowest common denominator.
Oh, and, Joffa, maybe this thread isn't all that rivetting, but who's post is the least rivetting amongst it? That would be yours, wouldn't it. Admit it, your messages even bore the bejeezus out of yourself.

2) USA : The Supreme Court, stacked with idealogical conservatives appointed by Ronald Reagan hands the result of the presidential election to the conservative candidate. In doing so they chose to ignore the fact that the election process in the State of Florida was so seriously flawed that it was unconstitutional.
In both cases, the supposedly independant judical system has been abused and corrupted by politicans.
