Congratulations on a hard fought win tonight. It was an awful game to watch (even worse for me given the result), but you guys wanted it more and came away with the points.

Waite ought to be played as a permanent key forward. He's young, quick and very good overhead mark. You've got a player there and he should be played ahead of Whitnall as Fevola's foil up forward. Very impressed tonight, though I thought Clarkson persisted with an out of touch Joel Smith for too long.

I was dirty when Eddie Betts came into your side and even more dirty when he kicked 3 matchwinning goals. We also struggle with his type of player and he was very lively tonight.

Nick Stevens cut us up when it mattered too.

Doubt you'll play finals but best of luck for the rest of the year.

Ditto all that. Good coaching by Pagan (saving runners for the last, just ran us off our legs), more desire, better finishing.

Think we gave it best we could but so did your lot and in the end, that proved to be to much for us to cope with.

Disappointed but given the last few years I'm getting used to that feeling. ;)

Oh and Waite, player. My vague memories of his old man were a big raw-boned bloke that'd crunch packs. His son seems to be all silk but I'm sure the old man (I know he passed on not that long ago) would be very proud. Lot to admire in that kid and how he plays.

Cheers.

A couple of quality posts from a couple of quality BF posters.

Agree it was a very ugly game to watch but it constantly had me on the edge of my seat - and jumping on it at the end ;)

See you in round 17 at The G!

:)

PS: Nick Stevens last night played the worst game I've seen him play in a Carlton jumper. He made errors and missed chances you would expect from a first gamer. Having said that, if that's his worst (26 possi's) then I think we have alot to look forward to.

Cheers.

Well said. It's a shame that Vin Waite will never get to watch the best of his son, but Jarrad will have many fans and will be a marque player for us in the future.

I've only seen Vin Waite on T.V and he was a good player even though he was the sides enforcer. He was equally as quick as Jarrad and some Blues fans say that like the Silvagni's their kicking style is identical!

Poor for three quarters but he just kept getting it in the fourth. Kouta likewise.

Vinny Waite was a left footer, and from my memory he used to kick a lot drop kicks. I am not so sure he son resembles him much as player.

While I don't like speaking ill of the dead, I think Vinny's role of an "enforcer" was somewhat overrated and he certainly went missing in that area on several occasions, such as in 1972 when Big Bad Mal Brown cleaned up half the Carlton team in a post season game and again when Balmey broke Southby's jaw and Laurie Fowler KO Big Nich in the '73 GF. Vinny was no where to be seen!!!!

Geez, dont say that. Youll have all the Port supporters over here saying "I told you so". I will certainly take Stevens having 26 possessions and playing like ******** for 1 game in every 25 ;)

Memo to ALL Carlton and Richmond fans this week. Lets all get our collective arses down to the MCG and outdo the crowd figure for the "blockbuster" between Geelong and St Kilda. (Which will be the Ch10 game  ) That will surely send a message to dimwit and co about our "blockbuster" status.

Geelong and Saints are pretenders

Same, I cant beleive they didnt play the Hawks and the Blues at the "g".

Would have got 60 000 given good weather.

For the Blues if Hawthorn vs Carlton is another FNF game it would be nice if we could host the game

geelong v st Kilda is a top 4 clash.
Carlton v richmond isn't. Its a pretty simple choice for Channel 10 imo.

If it was Collingwood v Richmond or Essendon v Richmond it would be different
