Hahaha as a opposed to the selfish pricks (Buckley, Pert and Kelly) that push him out the door before his time was up, wasted a premiership list, cost us decent tilts at a flag(s) in 2012/13/14 by supporting a coach that didn’t know his ass from his elbow until his 7th year in the job... hahaha

Supporters like you didn’t deserve to celebrate along with Mick, the Rat Pack and our greatest captain (Maxwell) since Tony Shaw.
LOL most selfish prick that ever coached us

His time was up 2 years before the flag

The board was sick of eternal list building and wanted him OUT

Guess who stood up for him

Eddie

Put his personal approval behind him and told the board he would walk if they sacked Mick

Guess who Mick backstabbed the worst

Eddie

Mick was an arrogant selfish vindictive turd

Deal with it goldie.

Don’t you mean Buckley, Pert and Kelly that help him get another flag, not to mention Eddie.
BF was full of sack Mick posts during this time - supporters wanted him gone
How is Malthouse the victim here - without the transition plan he would have been sacked and not won a flag.

Yes - Mick is the victim, poor Mick.

As he sulks into his replica premiership cup he like you have the story arse about.

Rose coloured glasses and what ifs.
Did you ever hear about this team called Hawthorn?

Read what I was responding to.
Remind me again did MM lose a GF cause he can’t implement a red time strategy?
Yes in 2002. Go back and count how many goals the Lions got in red time - cost us the game.
unloseable premiership in 2018
Laughable, when did you deem it was so?
2011 was closer to that than 2018, we lost to one team that year remember and maybe you remember the circumstances?
Anyway I digress, I'll remind you of the point I was making "Bucks has and always will be the better man IMO".

I haven't listened to it but looking at the quotes Bucks got on record how he really feels and maybe he had to do that but please God don't let us all this drag back up all season, it's ancient history now in football terms. Bucks was particularly stinging in his comments which is unlike the normally very measured person he is... but I don't think he meant to take a piece off Mick, he was just being candid about his qualities.

actually buckley went after him to get a second bite after the conversation had moved on from the original question by Whateley. He chose to go back to the Mick discussion. And his rat cunning and master manipulator wasn't just a slip of the tongue.

i just had a look at Malthouse's acceptance speech. I had to see his side of the story. His omission of buckley is nothing new. It was a glaring one. His reverence of anthony rocca just puts sugar on it. I suppose buckley's comments might signal that he's had enough of walking around it. He might feel that Malthouse hasn't got the profile and he is successful enough now, and that everyone is sick of it anyway, and he's probably right.

We’ve all been sucked in by the non Collingwood special one.

My bad.

Don’t feed it.

Will be back for more supper at the next loss.

A belated congratulations Mick.

Think of him as you will.. the bloke had charisma and a presence. And the love he had for those players was undeniable.

Great memories.

MM in the box after the Hawthorn final win in 2011.
2010 premiership.
His relationship with the media.
Some of the greatest football I've ever seen us play.

Strange comments from Buckley. Not sure why he felt the need to say that on MM day.
Just so you have something to post.

As Buckley said on SEN, Malthouse is writing his version of history where Buckley has no part in the 2002 team..... I think he's had enough of it

Go back and count how many all Australians Brisbane had compared to ours.. off the top of my head I think it was 6-1.. I could be wrong but it's thereabouts.

And you can argue that Anthony Rocca shot was a goal and the goal umpire got it wrong which would have put us 19 points in front.

We barely had a good enough side to compete agst this mob.. genius of MM to perform as well as we did that day.

Hahaha because Nathan never re-writes history at all haha that’s just hilarious.

Malthouse record as coach speaks for itself. Remind me again did MM lose a GF cause he can’t implement a red time strategy?

Mick, I always be indebted to you for all you did to make Collingwood a finals contender, and almost premiership contender, year after year.

The only coach in VFL/AFL history to make finals with each 4 clubs he coached. I doubt anyone will beat that record.

Responsible for the Weagles being the powerhouse they are today. And made Collingwood relevant again.

Always looked to maximise talent regardless of who you were, what personality you had or whether you liked a drink.

In time, once the Buckley is done and dusted, I hope he gets the love and recognition deserves from ALL pies fans and is acknowledged as being the greatest coach we’ve had since McHale.

Ultimately, no matter how many flags he wins, Buckley won’t ever be in the McHale or Malthouse league because neither of those guys would have lost the unloseable premiership in 2018. Both McHale and Malthouse would have implemented a decent red time strategy and got our 16th flag.

Your constant references to red time! The Red Woman. It's just dawned on me that you think you are Davos bending the knee to MM who you perceive to be Stanis - the rightful heir to the throne.

Your unabashed loyalty is admirable, but the thing is you were wrong all along - John Snow (Buckley) was the rightful heir to the throne, despite it taking several years in the wilderness before that truth became known. It is however now bleedingly obvious.

You can only sh1t on a bloke for so long before they bite back. Well done bucks for holding on so long.

I really don't like that imagery. I'm going to have nightmares about being bitten by people covered in shit.

Strange comments from Buckley. Not sure why he felt the need to say that on MM day.

Because he's had to put up with the bitter old man taking shots at him for eight years. Buck's has probably had enough, and I dont blame him.

The problem is that all this just serves to keep Mick in the media, and to feed his need for attention. Sad.

I personally loved him as a coach and was extremely happy when the transition plan was announced because I thought both parties agreed. They did not. I think it is selfishness from Mick not wanting to lose what he created (what a ****ing team - would shit on the last 4 flag teams) and Buckley wanting to take over too early (results have proven that to be true).

SO when one criticises the other, I take it that the truth is somewhere in the middle.

Love them both.

As for coaching Carlton, meh, Peter McKenna or Mick McGuane anyone?

Bucks timing was wrong, should have been left for another time.

Does mm deserve to be in the hall of fame, of course he does so congratulations to him.
Thats it
