Bucks timing was wrong, should have been left for another time.

TBH, I havent listened to any of it, either Mick or Bucks. I haven't go the stomach for it.

But Buck's timing, as you say, may be poor. But maybe also indicative of him having had a gutful. Pushed to the limits of his patience this time?

But also, if you mean that it takes away from Mick's time in the sun, then you make a fair point too.

If his intention was to rain on Mick's parade as revenge, maybe he couldn't have timed it any better? :p

.......

Malthouse record as coach speaks for itself. Remind me again did MM lose a GF cause he can’t implement a red time strategy?............

Both McHale and Malthouse would have implemented a decent red time strategy and got our 16th flag.

just an observation here... from memory Brisbane kicked quite a few "red time" goals in the 2002 GF - just before half time I think and in red time / time on in other quarters... I was there

To be honest l have not either listened to what they had to say, and if what bucks said is correct l don’t disagree with.
Your last sentence is were l was coming from. There is a time and place, next day was not necessary it.

Yes there is a time and a place and neither was right when Mick emptied the can over the club on the eve of the '11 finals series

Ditto his endless bitter old man whining about the club.

If you dance to the tune you have to pay the piper.

If I was in Buckley's position I would not have put up with a fraction of the petulant, childish, selfish, vindictive bullshit.

agree with, but wished he would have done it earlier or down the track sometime.
But it’s done now

Very poor form by Buckley. I thought he was better than that.

Sadly, the smug look while on the radio only confirms that Buckley is really only all, about Buckley.

Sadly undone all the good work of "pretending" he's matured.

Hahaha as a opposed to the selfish pricks (Buckley, Pert and Kelly) that push him out the door before his time was up, wasted a premiership list, cost us decent tilts at a flag(s) in 2012/13/14 by supporting a coach that didn’t know his ass from his elbow until his 7th year in the job... hahaha

Supporters like you didn’t deserve to celebrate along with Mick, the Rat Pack and our greatest captain (Maxwell) since Tony Shaw.
Go away troll

Hahaha because Nathan never re-writes history at all haha that’s just hilarious.

Do you bucks lovers have to invade every thread with your negative, tunnel vision and apologist agenda?

Malthouse record as coach speaks for itself. Remind me again did MM lose a GF cause he can’t implement a red time strategy?

Mick, I always be indebted to you for all you did to make Collingwood a finals contender, and almost premiership contender, year after year.

The only coach in VFL/AFL history to make finals with each 4 clubs he coached. I doubt anyone will beat that record.

Responsible for the Weagles being the powerhouse they are today. And made Collingwood relevant again.

Always looked to maximise talent regardless of who you were, what personality you had or whether you liked a drink.

In time, once the Buckley is done and dusted, I hope he gets the love and recognition deserves from ALL pies fans and is acknowledged as being the greatest coach we’ve had since McHale.

Ultimately, no matter how many flags he wins, Buckley won’t ever be in the McHale or Malthouse league because neither of those guys would have lost the unloseable premiership in 2018. Both McHale and Malthouse would have implemented a decent red time strategy and got our 16th flag.

I have to laugh at your comments "do you bucks lovers have to invade every thread with your negative, tunnel vision and apologist agenda?" then you give a prolonged one-sided drivel about the virtues of MM. I am not an MM fan but neither was I in favour of the Buckley succession plan.

MM had one good season at Footscray in 1986. He jumped ship at the end of 1989 because he feared the Bulldogs would fold or merge.

He was lucky to win the Eagles coaching job, where most pundits had predicted big things of them because of their champion crop of youngsters. He did wonders for the majority of his time at WCE however.

I think it is a big bow you are drawing by claiming MM is responsible for the Weagles being the powerhouse they are today. What he left behind was
a significant drug culture when he left. He had no influence at all on WCE winning the 2007 and 2018 premierships.

MM was a good coach for the Pies and he was great at getting the team to 3rd quarter time in GF's. We hit the wall in 2002 (despite BL being two men down) and lost by 9 points. We went to sleep in the last quarter of the 2010 GF (and if not for the luck of the bounce MM would have been a 4 time loser) and in 2011 we went to sleep at 3QT. One win out of 5 GF's is not much to write home about. However I am grateful that we coached us to our 16th premiership. However, when he left us what we had was a significant drug culture. Was history repeating itself? Did he turn a blind eye because of the success?

Since that time he has tried to re-write history about the succession plan. Until more recent times he has taken pot-shots at Collingwood and Buckley. Buckley was too dignified to respond to the grumpy old man's mumblings.

He took Carlton to the finals by default. They finished 9th but got in when the Bombers were kicked out of the finals.

You are measuring Buckley's coaching record to MM's and it is ridiculous to do so when one career has finished and the other is still in its infancy.

It took MM 8 years to get his team into his first GF. WCE were heavy fancies to win the GF having finished 3 games on top. The funny thing about that game is the Hawks & WCE were neck and neck to 3QT... before the Hawks kicked 8.4 to 1 goal in the last. As I said.. MM is good at getting teams to 3QT in a grand final. He won a premiership in his 9th year of coaching.

Buckley got the Pies to a GF in his 8th year (in a year that nobody picked the Pies to make the finals). Buckley is in his 9th year.

Please tell me this is supposed to be sarcasm. If you replaced every time you said 'Buckley' with 'him' I'd just assume you were talking about Malthouse.

Yes thanks for the flag Mick, it's a shame you're such a campaigner.

No, Mike was a massive arse hole.....don't get me wrong. His dummy spit was pathetic and cost us a flag. But Buckley has been close to impeccable up until this point. Now he's undone everything.

Simple question....Why? Why say those thongs and why say them now?

If Buckley has a media advisor, then that advisor should be sacked.

Yeah the TRUE history of the Weagles under his tenure was a team that was picked from the cream of every available footballer in the land with a total embargo on all other clubs recruiting Western Australian kids.

The AFL threw shotloads of money, concessions and rule 'adjustments' to ensure they were successful.

Likewise at Collingwood we threw endless bucket loads of cash and resources into funding his endless list building.

With all those resources at his disposal what did he win?

The record is on the board.

And his record since leaving the Pies - shows EXACTLY what sort of a coach he is if he doesn't have all the advantages in the world.

Thanks Mick for our 15th

But for gods sake grow up you petulant, childish old man.

Mick is a washed up old windbag who is one of the biggest hypocrites alive. I'm glad Bucks said what he did, I know who I'd want in the trenches and it wouldn't be the human form of Monty Burns.

Hahaha seriously?? Think you betting on the wrong horse mate. I’d take Malthouse and the Rat Pack in the trenches ever day of the week over Bucks and the poncey Pendles brigade.

My god how short the memories are of Nathan.

He’s Mr “I signed with north Melbourne first and then screwed the bears, and then burnt all my team mates carrying about how awesome I am, and then pinged my hammies cause I over train like an idiot, and then white anted the coach as soon as I retired even though I had no coaching experience and then took 7 years to figure out what the hell im supposed to do (well actually just decided to hire Maxwell to fix all the major problems for me)”.

Oh and remember when it looked like he wouldn’t get reappointed in 2017 - the media leaks saying he might not coach the club cause “Collingwood” hadn’t treated him well over the journey???

Yet somehow his ascension to head coach was all about the good of Collingwood. And now he’s on radio saying he’s just another one of the bodies Mick left on the side of the road? Good lord, play the victim much Nathan? How many bodies you on the side road mate? How’s Paul Williams going? How’s the Rat Pack going? No wonder none of your team mates like ya, no wonder you got the nickname FIGJAM. Good lord, what a ****ing ego.

I’ll take a premiership coach all day over this Buckley ego manic.

IGNORED - one can only stomach so much unadulterated drivel in one lifetime.

For the life of me I simply cannot work out why such a sad and obsessive individual is still allowed to post with the adults.
