This is great news. Hope he does well. Also hoping Davies gets a run in the VERY near future.

:)

Congrats Whitey... have a good one in the ODN...

parrot... we might see Davies out there next week depending on a couple of things.

Didn't Hurley kick 4 in a BOG performance?

Only 2 goals were attributed to Hurls while White was on him.....Dare and Anderson also spent some time switching onto him. IIRC one of the goals was lace out on a lead that no defender would have stopped. In the body on body contests White more than held his own (Hurley's strength body on body being one of his best attributes) and often beat Hurls at the drop of the ball. He also provided good rebound throughout the day....Hurley was amongst the best for the bombers but that wasn't saying much last week....actually I reckon Davey was close to best.

Ask the other blokes who come to TAC, I love Hurls as much as the next bloke, but White's efforts were very good.

That's why it's hard to place a lot of emphasis on bests without the context

You don't love Hurls as much as me, but White's performance last week was very very good. Not sure who he'll matchup on on Saturday, but what we can expect is a very honest performance from a real good player.

retracted...:

...sounds like a potential (lets wait and see) congrats mate and good luck

How do you play above your height? Stilts? I cant see him being very mobile. Perhaps he could tag shaun wren?
Good luck Simon, Go blues?

It is all about mobility and vertical movement.

Jezza was only 182cm tall (just under 6' tall in the old money) but he still managed to end up with his knee on Jerker Jenkins shoulder who was 6'6" tall...

Big Nick... possibly the greatest ever ruckman to play the game... he was rucking against guys like the afore mentioned 'Jerker' Jenkins... he was only 189cm (6' 2.5" tall) and he was the dominant ruckman of the 60's and early 70's until he retired as a player.

These are guys who played well above their heights by use of their vertical movement.

This is what is called playing above your height...

Didn't Tippett kick something like 4 or 5 on Jamo in the praccy match? Wouldn't mind White going on Tippett, If he only conceded 2 against Hurley with all the ball going his direction, it would be handy to have him allow Jamo to stay on a Burton or Maric (i have no idea how adelaide structures, but you get my drift)

He did.

Tippett's height and leap were too much for Jammo - which is why I think White should have first crack.

White is 3cm smaller than Jamo, and a very big ask for a 1st gamer to play on such a target as Tippett. Not sure i'd throw the young bloke to wolves that early IMO.
