To the Poms credit they were missing Trescothick, Jones and there captain.

We simply took our chances and made the most of them.

It will be interesting to see what our bowling attack looks like in 2009 because this is something that needs 2 b addressed.

On winning back the Ashes, thoroughly deserved, it was clear you were a lot hungrier than England to win them, and England were just pathetic.

Congratualtions, bring on 2009!
NAnanananananana Ashes!! Ashes!!! hahahahahaha England, bad luck- not! Order is restored. England are back in a ****heap. 3-0, England are pathetic. Suck on that England.

Thanks mate.:)

Yeah well done Aussies, oh well, in the back of my mind I always knew that last year awoke the sleeping giant, the Aussies are so much easier to beat when you catch them by suprise but they had too much to play for with most of them likely to never play in another Ashes series, they didnt want to end their careers as losers

Bring on 2009

Hello, Edward

Hard luck about the cricket mate.

The better team won and won easily and rightly so. (As bill lawry would be saying)

At least you can still watch the 2005 ashes DVD hey eddie.

I might purchase Amazing Adelaide when it comes out.

Just remember.

Ricky Ponting Victorious Ashes Captain 2006.

One more.

:D :D :D

Well done Browney2006, you have some decency to congratulate the Aussies on their Ashes win, most opposition supporters couldn't bring themselves to do what you did. Thanks mate.

Realities are the current Aussie team is scintillating, but not unbeatable.

2009 should be a ball-bursting series, both teams will be preparing from now.

Well done Aussies. It's a pleasure to watch a world class team, in reality not any nation can come close to. Better that it was done against England, I'd like 5-0, just for Nasser Hussain.

correct - class act.

Congratulations taken....and I echo the thoughts about 2009 - England will need to unearth another solid middle order player or two, and Australia will have to find at least one or two strike bowlers by then.

Both sides will probably be quite different by then, but the intensity will no doubt be back to fever pitch in the old dart...

By my rough calculations its about 960 days until the start of the 2009 Ashes, assuming a mid-July start for the 1st Test!!!:thumbsu:

We probably have the advantage at this stage for 2009 as the Aussies need to find out who will be there, who can cut it whilst we only have possibly 1 spot that needs to be taken care of, no6 as well as a couple of backup pace bowlers. It should be an interesting series, the team looking for revenge v the new Aussies

When is the next ashes series? It's so confusing. There was a brief period between this and the one before and now there is a 3 year wait for the next? WTF????

Haha. Try 2.5, because otherwise we'd be playing in an English winter - snowed off. Or we could alternate evry two years between English summers - and have the Ashes competing with the prime time of the AFL season?

Yes. We wanted it more. We were hungry. But that is not an excuse;). England seemed very flat... they weren't very well prepared. Ahh well. ASHES ARE BACK IN AUSTRALIA!!! YEAHHHHHH

Yes well done to Australia, it was truly never in doubt.

Hopefully we will give Read the chance to play now, Jones has fumbled his last, and his batting is no longer a drawcard of his . .i'dve nearly given the gloves to Bell.

Stuff the ICC, the ECB and CA should schedule the ashes every two years, it is without a doubt the best series between any two country and despite this years scorecard . .the most competitive.

Panesar has banished Giles for good and Cook seems more than able to replace Trescothick when the time is right . .Collingwood has found his niche, though vunerable to quality bowling the like of McGrath and Clark

Positive signs for the English . .yet we've only been given a taste of the possibility of an ultra competitive series

Roll on 2009, it's unlikely England will acheive anything significant inbetween now and then

Still doesn't make sense. We played them over there 1.5 years ago so they should now get us over there in mid 2008 not 2009. Why is it every 1.5 years after we play over there and 2.5 years after they come out here until the next series???

Basic maths :D

Its 4 years between every home series for both sides

Wow! you won at home. (as usual)

nothings changed. I'm not an English fan but you'll prove yourselves when you go to England and beat them.

Even in this series you took advantage of a ridiculously injury depleted England side. Your team is old and will most likely be very different come 2009while England have at least started playing young players.

That could prove the difference.
