Maybe we should let this thread sink quietly to the back pages now. Yeah, I know I just bumped it. I knew he would cost us today.

Now now ODN, he would give the Coleman back for another shot at his last F50 entry but it wasn't as bad as Doc's out on the full or Durdin's total ??? (what do you call his kick?)

Can we please direct him to stop those ******* around the body snaps?
He just won a Coleman, I'm not directing him to do anything other than what works for him ;) Having said that I'm sure that he'd trade that Coleman in for the chance to kick that goal again.

Understandable frustration. His last fortnight netted 3.9 - games in which the margin was decided by less than a kick. Certainly not singlehandedly at fault for either result, but geez as a KPF 3.9 in two of the season-shaping games for the Club is not good enough.
He was considered pretty accurate before that though, so not sure what changed.

Anyway, he's not Robinson Crusoe. I can't be too mad at a guy that comes off 2 years injury, wins a Coleman and has the pure talent he has. He is and will be amazing for us, but he had a bad day. And had plenty of mates there, including his fellow Coleman medallist.

We have the last two Coleman medalist and you could t trust either of them 20m out straight in front.

Their inaccuracy cost us a spot in the finals today
2.5 and a set-shot snap from 30m that didn't make the distance.

He should break his Coleman Medal into little pieces and throw them into the crowd like Lindsay Lohan at the end of Mean Girls.

Hand in a your “moderator” tag. Disgrace

Charlie and Harry saved their worst football for teh most important games and wasted opportunities to kick big scores all year- they are very very immature footballers who are paid very big dollars to be the difference between winning and losing. The midfield and defensive structures had to struggle with carrying VFL at best role players all year but despite that managed - to get them more than enough ball to win matches - and they consistently failed to kick regulation goals.

These are the facts: in the end of season big games we needed to win - Charlie kicked what was it- 3:9?

Sadly he should have been BOG with 5 goals for the day. Get Rocca down to get the forwards repeatable goaling technique. Pies will get smashed next week because Jeremy Cameron and Hawkings wont miss those shots at goal

Missed targets, breakdowns in defence, rushing kicks under pressure are all things that happen.
one thing you have control over as a forward is to take your time when you mark the ball inside 50 and kick the ball as straight as possible for goal. You have 30 seconds every time.
our two guys are known rushers, these snaps around the body are a cop out, they are bullshit and they have cost us big time.

That's on the coaches, plain and simple. They have given them too much rope with this and they've hang themselves.
You mark the ball inside 50 within a 45 degree angle, you kick a drop punt. if you miss, you miss. The law of probabilities states that you're more likely to kick the ball straight at the point rather than hit the belly of the ball.

He's a real talent Charlie, freakish ability, he has just won the Coleman medal after 2 years out of the game. He's not a thinker on the football field, he needs "some" boundaries. His rule should be take a mark inside 50, take 30 seconds minimum and kick a drop punt where possible. He might not like it, but he's on big money and this is professional sport.

we've just seen what playing the percentages results in FFS!

Definitely immature, 25 year olds going on 13. Maybe some life lessons from their last few games will have been learnt and they have a good 6 months to reflect on them.

The misses which stand out for me are the ones he rushed and that around the body one frmo too far out

1. The first quarter volley attempt
2. The 2nd quarter around the corner from over 40 out
3. The rush play on in the last quarter

I don't mind the round the body snaps within about 35 or so, Harry for one hardly ever misses them, he also takes his time.

Just hope they both learn from this and become hardened professionals in the Jeremy Cameron/Tom Hawkins mould.

Love Charlie but sometimes he has a bit of the Joe Danihers in him (rushes and does something dumb). Ultimately it was first full season in a number of years and the three big games in a row to finish off the season didn't help (him and all our other players). Its unfortunate but he should be congratulated on a great season. Massive overs to what we were expecting of him.

Here's to back to back in 2023 (with a 1-2 with Harry)
