Massive congratulations to Daniel. Such a great story and one that should give hope to and inspire other players of all levels who face injury crisis and question whether they can come back. With all his body has been through it's amazing that he can still perform at the level he does. There will always be the lingering "What if?" about just how good he could have been if he'd had a clear run at it but that shouldn't denigrate how good he actually is regardless. A player that Geelong have been crying out for recently and it's awesome that his (and the club's) perseverance has seen him able to fill the role. Hope he gets on the end of a few tonight in front of what's sure to be an adoring crowd.

Kudos to science and all the practical surgeons that now allows you to crack one of your greatest load bearing joint in half and return to near full fitness so much better than even 10 years ago

AFL is an especially unforgiving sport for this kind of injury I'd imagine

To make it back for a Jason McCartney style swansong would have been a special achievement. That's all I think I was really hoping for 2-3 years ago. To make it back and play like it's the start of 2012 and he never had all those lost years is truly remarkable.
