What a great game of football exciting match for the impartial supporter although I started barracking for you for the first time ever (except when you play Carlton). Gutsy and Terrific effort from the bombers. Can now understand why Stanton frustrates bomber supporters. why didn't he kick the goal? Respect to watson but I think heppell is your first genuine superstar since Hird. Quite a few other players looked good as well.

Heh, a week ago, i told my mum to put money on essendon beating geelong (she does some group betting thing at work and had no idea what to put it on)
So she does and they waked away with over a grand winnings tonight.
Needless to say, everyone is pretty shocked that i called it, as i said at the time, if anyone can do it, essendon can!.
Also second what Bipolar said, love geelong fans, great thread, great game.

Just don't make any bets like that again. You still got lucky.
I've not seen intensity at the contest by any team like I saw from Essendon tonight, short of finals. Very rare is that seen, and teams have even been notorious for bringing their 'A' game against Geelong for years. Great example tonight that no matter the personnel on the ground, if one side wants it enough... it's winnable.
I guess judging from Essendon's effort last week, you guys would be very interested to see what they produce in coming weeks. I think we can perhaps use a loss to work on some things too.

But after 13 straight it might be easier!!!
Only worry for Geelong is that better teams then Essendon will look at what Thompson set up tonight, sorry Hirdy but we know it was Thompson this week, and dismantle them like us but finish better minus some of the ridiculous mistakes we did.
