You'll note that I've contributed heartily to this thread. As for last week, if you must know, I was in hospital witnessing the birth of my first child.

Young Jake is one week old today.

Great to see the HFC breeding program for members is progressing well.

We welcome young Jake aboard the bandwagon and hope he and Mrs LP are doing well. Congratulations to the whole family from all of us on the board. It's fantastic news.

Let us know all the details mate. Would love to hear about him.

P.S. Are you sure Buddy isn't his father?

Woah thanks very much everyone!

The boy is doing really well and his mum's coming along just nicely. He looks like he's six months old and has a strong grip. If he's not playing AFL footy in 2026 I'd be VERY surprised.

Mrs LP has jumped in early and bought him a LOT of Geelong paraphenalia. Very disturbing. It's taken me 4 years to convert my nephew from Carlton to Hawthorn, now it looks like I'll have a similar battle with my own offspring.

That is, Buddy isn't the kid's real father

Mate the Missus is TOUGH. 56 hours is unbelievable. When I tell my partner this she will choke..... That is a long, long labour. I'm sure you'll be reminded of it at various times down the years too!

Its great to hear all is well. Enjoy it all. It's an aweome time and it before you know it you'll be filling in the Auskick forms and signing him up at Waverley.

Mate I'm so ****ing proud of her - she took no pain relief for 48 hours, at which point the doc said "you're not actually progressing, we need to load you up with epidural and hormone drip".

Couldn't believe it -I found it tough to stay awake for the whole time, have NO idea how the missus managed to stay up AND give birth.

If the boy gets that sort of determination he'll win at least 1brownlow - probably more!
