The Saints did stand up as a team. It was inspirational.

They did so in respect for Robert Harvey. We love him. He is the fairest player to ever pull on a boot.

"Harves" had a purple patch of form around 1997 - 1998 where he won consecutive Brownlow medals and the 1998 AFLPA MVP award (amongst several other awards).

He has slowed down a little since then and his trademark swivel of the hips (which helped him earn a reputation for being untouchable on a footy field) is not as effective as it used to be. But he still finds ways to contribute. He still has BOG performances. He is truly remarkable, our Harves.

His work rate is phenomenal. 350 matches spanning 20 seasons. He has played with or against fully one fifth of all players who have ever played AFL at the elite level. (AFL/VFL). He has run most of them off their feet.
