Combining about four different things together to whinge #VICBIAS and make Port look like the victim doesn’t change the fact that Ollie Wines knew the rules & didn’t follow them.

The amount of cases in Victoria has nothing to do with Wines incompetence

weigh up the actions / consequences of wines engaging in an open air non-contact interview in a state with zero cases versus a conscious decision to allow Victorian teams to stay in Vic when they have active cases despite the warnings and the option to avoid it.

For those interested in things other than potting Victoria or Essendon;

Timeline on McKenna:
- Tested Wed
- Result back Fri am - negative
- Completed main contact training Fri am
- Tested on Fri pm
- Arrived at club today am
- Informed 15-20mins after arrival that Fri test was ‘irregular’ and not to train
- Tested again
- Result today pm - positive
Just out of curiosity why the 2 tests?.. is that standard procedure for covid or AFL?

Current DHS requirement is anyone in “close contact” with a known positive are supposed to self quarantine for 14 days.
Depends how they define “close contact” then I guess.

It is just bad luck for Essendon and obvs further bad luck cos history.

15 minutes in close proximity (same room it seems qualifies). Open air training probably ok, but gym work and meetings would be close contact.

We definitely should be potting Victorians, you would have seen the bogans clustering in the shopping malls in the last month as I have.
Not to mention the demonstrations.
Crazy behaviour, second wave was inevitable imo.

lots of people seem to think he did? Do you know this for fact?

Genuine question to set things straight as I haven’t seen anything to do with this training..

Are they showing footage of him training before the test and it’s being mistaken for after the test? What’s the go..
AFL site says he didn't train this morning. I think there was another source which said the test in question was after training yesterday. So, he may have isolated after the test but would have (unknowkingly) had the virus when with the team yesterday and presumably for some time before.

Its not only Victoria which has had ridiculously packed shopping centres, or protests. It was bound to break out again at some point, and is bound to again somewhere else. Small outbreaks are inevitable, its the easing of restrictions potentially turning them into large ones that is the worry.

the media has been saying he did train.

Essendon supporters have been saying he didn’t train.

another Essendon poster in this thread went into detail and said he came into training and was there for 20 mins and told to go home.

Is it possible had it from Ireland and has already recovered.
Ie the positive is some sort of residual or trace of the antibodies?
Is there a way to confirm that?

Perhaps if that can be investigated we can be back into things effective immediately?

Otherwise dons are out for at least 2 weeks while 1 vic team has a bye each of those weeks.

The non vic teams will not be impressed if the whole comp is postponed based off this after moving interstate to get things going.

Are Vic teams not subject to the same quarantine rules as the others? If so this should be a contained incident. If not... then this is all just a big joke and Victoria and the AFL seriously need to sort their sh#t out.

I got that from Twitter, but can only assume it was from Xavier Campbell's presser.

Sounds like he trained until the irregular result, was then told not to train after that and has returned the positive since.
