It wasn't mentioned in the press conference, so can we assume there is no risk to the Swans who they played last week, or North who shared a plane with them?

I'm guessing a negative test this past Wednesday means it is unlikely he either (a) had contrated it prior to last weeks game or (b) if he had contracted it, wasn't infectious?

It is a pretty good result if it means only one game is postponed. I was thinking there might be a comp wide 2 week pause and isolation for the Swans, North and Essendon.

I feared this would happen when they said they were loosening restrictions. Hopefully they reverse that decision, and will scare off any players who even think about breaking the rules (as there had been a few already who were lucky not to contract the virus).

2 weeks? The numbers are going up again as the restricitons are being eased.

Season will likely be cancelled surely
Not a chance unless the Govt policy forces them to. Make no mistake, AFL needs to keep the season running because without the broadcast dollars how will they get the money to prop up StK, NM, and the other non-viable Vic clubs?

“There are many parts of the state particularly in regional Victoria that have had no cases,” Mr Andrews said.

“We will, if and when it is safe, reopen those communities perhaps with a different set of rules,” he said.

About f***ing time.

I don’t think it takes an epidemiologist to understand social distancing following contact with someone who then tests positive, does it?

Takes one to determine who should be quarantining surely? Not some muppet being a muppet?

Does everyone think the Premier League won’t have a positive test? Of course they will and the season will go on....that’s in a country with one of the worst death rates in the world. Cancel season my arse
Gawd you vics are dense.

wasnt the afl shut down the season in the first place - it was the social distancing regulations made it impossible to play.

victoria has a second wave (as is looking more and more likely) and wham the banhammer comes down.

Can you ******* moronic victorians get anything right? Even your lesser cousins have managed to control something so simple. And then there’s you dimwits. ******* everything up for everyone else.

How epic is this melt.... :D:D:D

Its gotta be the most delicious irony ever if having too many clubs in one state influencing the competition to have a hub in victoria leads to the comp being shut down and clubs in victoria fold as a result.
