So the protest in Melbourne caused a spike in cases in Victoria but the protests in other capital cities didn't cause a spike in their states cases.

Strange. Almost like the spike in Victoria was caused by something else.

Maybe Victorian protesters didn't wash their hands. Maybe there's a superspreader.

Too coincidental for me. It's not like nobody saw this coming.

If Duterte tells Filipinos something's illegal, it's fu**en illegal!

No it’s not. He simply kills dissenting citizens without any process. He literally has death squads at his disposal. The UN hold grave concerns over the human rights of Philippino citizens.

You need to have a lie down Ron. You sound completely off your head.

Yeah yeah sure Ted.

What happened to Sydney? They had protests too.

That graph says nothing contrary to what I posted.

HIIIYYAAA

Are you marching this weekend? Why not?

Pack of selfish campaigners.

Weird melts in here. Are people genuinely suggesting the health department is behind a conspiracy to let the AFL continue?
Given the government let the AFL and Essendon know about the AFP raid before it happened, you can see why some might be sceptical

Right so we do think its a conspiracy. I mean the government locked the state down to prevent the spread, but when it comes to football it doesn't matter.

😂😂😂😂

I love this place.

Doesn't a national emergency give governments more power?
If declared yes.
There are levels of state of emergencies and various things that can be invoked.
To stop the protests, the Federal Govt needed to suspend that part of the constitution. Which isn't that easy. And would have applied to all gatherings across the country.

Sometimes the law is good. Sometimes it ties you up in a bind.

I'm no fan of Danny from the block but as a social introvert and recent covert to the joys of "WFH" I commend his approach to the BLM protest.

Fantastic stuff.

Yep, and did you head that a pirate shortage is causing global warming?

View attachment 898018

The pirates number is heavily, heavily under stated here by the way. There's a reason ships avoid Somalia, not to mention all the people who didn't pay for Game of Thrones.

Why bother with any form of social distancing if wrestling/direct physical contact is how COVID is spread.

Open up the economy. Get back to normal.

The one rule. Don't touch anyone for more than 14 minutes

As I said before, if you want to look at McKenna’s single tackle on Saad then you will need to look back on all weekend matches if a player tests positive on a Tuesday and quarantine every player that tackled or was tackled by positive player.
Yet the AFL has changed its tackling rules at training based on this positive result but players this player tackled are A-OK to play [emoji848]

Like the government, their rules make no sense

Not saying I agree but I've worked at government departments before and if we're getting paid by someone we'll try our best to provide the results they want, no question.

The snot coming out of McKovid's nose in that footage, **** me. The hugs.
Tackling is banned because it's bad, but it's ok to tackle if it's only 14 minutes worth and it was last week.

Yeah a bit sus.

???? They close the school down for cleaning and to give time for contact tracing to be done.
That's the same as what has happened at Essendon, plus they also tested everyone so it is even more thorough than a positive case at a school.
That and Essendon also have footage of training while school doesn’t have footage of kids

Most are suggesting it's an incredibly mixed message to be sending to the community. And the AFL would continue just fine without 8 or so players for a couple of weeks.

The whole thing has been from day one.

Perhaps now more people will snap out of their TV fear induced mental comas.

The BLM protests should have been enough of a wakeup call, but if not, this latest farce might be what does the trick.

Wake up and smell the coffee, people. We are being lied to. Again.
Thought you’d be happy with the outcome tbh; this apparent downgrade of quarantine is a step closer to what you advocated which is ignore the covid as just another illness..
