Source? I haven't seen this. Not saying it didn't happen but all I read was that it is a line of enquiry that they are following.

TBH I was paraphrasing when I said highly unlikely more accurately they said:

Conor McKenna is having more tests on Monday to confirm he has COVID-19 in his system.

Though a false positive appears unlikely, foxfooty.com.au understands it is being investigated as a possibility by health officials...

...Last week NSW Health director of public health pathology Professor Dominic Dwyer said false positives can occur with any test but “they are very rare.”

Professor Dwyer said “multiple tests” need to be conducted in some cases “to be sure.”

Should be a Tasmanian hub also.

No idea why Hawthorn and North are playing each other in Melbourne this weekend, destroys that future possibility.

The AFL should legitimately mix this weekends Carlton & Melbourne and Hawthorn & North fixtures around to enable Hawthorn and North to head up a Tasmanian hub with an additional 2 x teams ~ 1 x additional teams based out of Hobart, 1 x additional out of Launceston....
I don't think Tasmania has said teams will get an exepmtion from the 14 day quarantine. So, any hub in Tassie couldn't start for two more weeks at a minimum. And the Tas government isn't keen (quite rightly) on paying money for games which won't bring any tourist dollars.

The false positive theory was put forward by Xavier Campbell (Essendon CEO), Health Dept says its highly unlikely but further tests will be conducted to confirm or rule out.

It could well turn out to be a false positive but I don't think it's time to hand McKenna his hand written apology just yet.

If he breached the agreed protocols it shouldnt really matter whether he is sick or not.

Kind of like how dangerous tackles should be treated seriously regardless of whether or not a player is concussed.

Hell no, not to Victoria.
The rest of us though that have done the right thing.
Im still disappointed WA and SA haven’t opened up.
SA have opened up to everyone but Victoria & NSW. Just haven't been reciprocated which is strange given we have had no active cases or community infections for close to a month.

Plan to open up to NSW July 20 if they remain under control, which was also the plan with Victoria, which looks unlikely with the spike in community infections.

Other states probably see it as a good excuse to keep South Australians away for a bit. Might not have much to do with active cases.

Seems Gil the Dill is of similar thinking.

Costing the AFL millions.

Awesome leadership when the AFL have record debt.

LOL i said this on saturday after hearing of the positive result, except for point 3 i was pretty spot on.
If i was a betting man, i would be loading up on this happening.

1. No 14 day isolation
2. McKenna magically returning a negative result
3. Essendon and Melbourne rolling out wednesday night.
4. The double standard vic government on show for all to see after their tantrum today.

No one from Victoria goes to SA anyway unless they are forced too so closing the border to us means jack. :p

Don't worry we don't want anyone from the irresponsible state either to infect us... ;)
