poor fella, McLeod had a much better season than Aka. I remember Dennis Pagan saying that McLeod was unstoppable vs the Kangas in a night game that year, McLeod went on to not even poll a vote for the game.

Its the biggest joke ever.

As far as I'm concerned McLeod won that brownlow, everyone else can get stuffed.

35 touches and a goal. I remember it well. Everything he touched turned to gold.

Admitedly Roo also had 35 touches and a bag of goals so you can forgive the umps for not giving Macca the three, but to not poll at all...

Heard on 5AA an interview with Arch who said he thought Roo was going to win.

Anyone get the impression that this medal was invented because so many great players have retired this year. Lets face it, on criteria any of Arch, Roo, Hird or Buckley would be deserving of this medal. Next year I suspect none of the retiring players will be as deserving as these 4. Makes the medal a bit of a joke IMO.
