From the very genesis of Sweet, one King Rule has ruled the roost.

Thou Must Submit Thy Teamsheet By Deadline.

Throughout the tides of history, for all the ebbs and flows of other Rules, this one principle stood firm. Nearly every season, some miscreant captains failed to heed this Rule, and each and every one was dealt with under the penalties in vogue at the time.

Yesterday, this Rule faced its Waterloo. As the Coney Island Warriors exercised their right of appeal over a penalty for submitting their team 3 1/2 hours late, some captains rremarkably forgot this Golden Rule. Needing 6 votes to dismiss the charge and plunge the Sweet FA into anarchy, at one stage the vote count stood at 5 for dismiss, 3 for uphold.

League legends were aghast. Simmers threatened a strike. If a precedent was set, where would it lead?

I make no apologies for contacting captains of some of the clubs who had failed in their duty to uphold the Golden Rule of Sweet. They, and their LGs, put their own interests ahead of the leagues.

Teamsheets must be submitted by 11.59pm Thursdays.
No.
Excuses.

Now, time delays and an absence from home left me unable to vote for the Royals on this matter however I had voiced my opinion earlier that I could see no reason for any relaxation on the team sheet penalty.

At that, I thought the story about Ant Bear contacting committee members privately and the whole "simmers will revolt/league legends crying" thing was just a hilarious joke - far too ridiculous to be real.

Sure, one constitutional crisis may have been averted but one larger one may have been created. What did AB say in his pre-admin campaigns? That the committee "was the leagues LG". As a former admin this is a real troubling outcome for me, that those captains voting one way (albeit wrongly let's be honest) were strong armed privately into changing their own choices. The result was right, the method was corrupt. And every admin knows this one rule... never admit anything.

Warriors should have just accepted the punishment and I'm glad it was upheld but this thread is fairly redundant when you have gone and changed some very important rules just to protect yourself. Please address that concerning issue.

Why is this rule upheld but not the thing about admin elections? New admins can just change all rules as they like?

Perhaps we need a rule that says the admin can't change rules without full league consultation and especially ones pertaining to the provision for them being outed from the role.

Ant Bear I completely agree with your version of history, with your interpretation of the rules and with the fact that captains who voted to support the appeal are disgraceful in their own rights.

BUT don’t bother having an appeals process and vote at all if you are just going to contact the captains to pressure them to change. It’s all a bloody charade mate when you have a pre-determined outcome and refuse to listen if the vote doesn’t go your way.

Your stance on this is, in my view, correct. The method you have applied is so corrupt that it puts you in the league of morally bankrupt admins such as TFLUA Tiger and The Filth Wizard.

If you’re going to run this thing dictator style with pre-determined outcomes then just bloody do it. Ditch the charade and stop wasting people’s time with it.

Since you’ve undermined the captains here can you please undermine them further by naming the ones who supported the appeal so I can also hurl abuse at them as well?

These captains and this process by the admin shows there are too many here who couldn’t run a bath let alone a club or, god forbid, a league.

The constitutional crisis is far from averted as you have created a new one. The committee representatives SHOULD reflect the majority views and votes of their own clubs, not themselves, and it is your job to enforce this. So by undermining the reps, you’ve undermined each player in this league.

This constitutes bringing the league into disrepute and also constitutes an abuse of power so flagrant it must be acted upon.

There are strange similarities to Donald █████, with a whistleblower making noise about an impeachable offence and █████ committing the same offence publicly. You were picked up in a revelation by another poster and now this thread is alarmingly honest about a clear breach of trust and abuse of power.

It’s time for the clubs to unite and act. It’s time for f***ing anarchy, the likes of which this league has never seen. It’s time for multiple protests, team sheet errors, penalty points, suspensions, refusals to post in a match thread, posting in red font only, posting in images or YouTube videos only. It’s time to boycott the committee, for every poster to tag the administrator in every post of theirs for the week.

It’s time to bring absolute golden chaos to this league for a few weeks, the likes of which will be spoken about for years to come.

I implore Sweet FA players to huddle together in their team PMs and plan anarchy for the next few weeks.

I heard this was a rumour. Now you've just admitted to breaching Rule 9A.

So let me get this straight: based on the opinion of a select group of players who do not officially represent clubs, you sought to sway the decision of official representatives of clubs AKA the committee.

That action, to undermine the committee, does that not seem a little corrupt to you?

And to everyone else, doesn't telling us all this seem a little incompetent?

Those a two quite specific words, those two.

Ant Bear admitting to corrupting the committee room.

Holy fu**.

I feel so ******* vindicated.
Just when you thought Brisbane making the top four was your Christmas

Ant Bear

What is the difference between 4-3 and 5-3?

You stated that the Bombers issue need not be revisited after only 7 captains voted.

Is the finality of a comittee room decision based solely on your personal opinion?

You were worried about precedents. You have just become the first openly corrupt Admin in league history. Hope you've got that no confidence thread in the committee room on standby.

I nominate BRAB to formally bring about charges against Ant Bear of bringing the game into disrepute by corrupting the committee.

You misunderstand, anything I do in the role of Administrator is for protection of the ROLE, or for the good of the league, not for personal preservation or gain.
The admin role needs to be stable, but a significant majority can still evict the sitting admin if necessary. There are other safeguards enshrined in the Rules allowing for vetos and reversals of executive decisions.
The previous rule was unworkable. 51% vote could ask the admin to stand aside, with little regard for the destabilisation of the league
Under the current election system, as opposed to the previous system of executive appointment, the Admin has been elected by the majority to represent the entire league, and it is destabilising if the vocal minority are regularly threatening to unseat the sitting admin.
Everything I do in this role is with the best interests of the league at heart. I and other Committee members have put forth many ideas, some of which get up, some work and some dont, and some have voted down. Why do you think we do not have a publicly visible Committee?

and it is destabilising if the vocal minority are regularly threatening to unseat the sitting admin.

But it's not a vocal minority, it would be a majority of the committee representatives?

If my final act as Admin was to preserve the integrity of this rule, then it was worth it. As Mobbs and Ljp have said, it is the single most sacred rule in the history of the league, and I would have over-ruled the Committee if need be.
