Some really constructive ideas and observations above.

Clarification is needed on the governance structure.

The Admin needs to be appointed by and held to account to a Board representing the diverse interests - Clubs and the folk who do the work or have made massive contributions on the past.

The "board" so to speak are the 12 captains - 1 for each club who represent their club and their interests. Some clubs want shorter seasons, some longer, some want to face X club twice due to heritage or face Y club once cause they are shitcampaigners. The admin is the head of the league, responsible for creating and enforcing rules and minor things to do with engagement (SoO, Trade Weeks, special events, etc) whilst the committee keep him in line from doing something stupid like saying game threads are posted on Friday night, games on Saturday, team sheets in by Monday or by telling the admin "My team has no interest in SoO" and so if enough teams are of the same opinion the admin can therefore not waste time on doing SoO. For example.

I think I’ve mentioned this at least 4-5 times now, but why in the living name of fu** would someone be allowed to appeal a clear breach of a supposedly black and white, inflexible, ‘sacred rule’? Why is the committee even asked to ‘vote’ on these?

The minute you ask someone to vote, you are allowing them to express an opinion. That opinion needs to reflect the LG on behalf of the club, but can otherwise be whatever the fu** opinion they want to have.

People (including “league legends”) who are melting at captains not voting ‘in the right way’ need to have a think about what they’re saying.

Bloodied52; I find when the Senior Qooty Players pull the old "you've been here two minutes" line, the appropriate reaction is to:

1. Reply with: EAD

or

2. Post pr0n, get banned and then you don't have to put up with their condescending posts

I hope the advise of a 5 minute player is of some use

It honestly cannot be that hard.

Simmers: yes you volunteer your time and that is something you should be thanked for as no one cares as long as the games are up but soon as they are late or whatever, it becomes an issue. You do a lot. Put up with a lot. But you get 2 and a half days to sim (what should be) at max 5 games. But realistically, 2. Notice any errors, report them and follow the system put in place (use the team sheet you got, use the previous week's if that's the ruling). Don't ******* riot because it's your boss' job to...

Admin: Write the rules. Enforce the ******* rules. Try to minimise the amounts of shades of grey. You also have 12 captains (who should be active people in the league based on their position in their respective clubs) who will actually, oh I dunno help you. You wanna change rules x, y and z. All you gotta do is post the thread in the committee a few weeks out and go "hey guys, these are the rules for next year, changes are in bold. Any questions, ideas let me know. They go live in a week". Then if one of them bitches after the fact, you're covered. If enough of them kick up a stink about it, it probably means the league will kick up a stink when they find out. Give the committee warning of anything major and you're fine. But take the feedback because if enough of them think something is stupid than it just might be stupid. One of the beauties of being admin is that you don't have to do anything. You can delegate like a motherf***er because people are always willing to help. People want to sim for you. People want to post games for you. People want to make Mobbs Night banners and shit. All you have to do is not be a ******* idiot.

Committee: Your role is to keep the above dickhead in check and pass on any ideas any players in your team have. But more importantly you need to know the rules that concern you like HOW TO ******* POST A TEAM SHIT YOU BLOODY FOOLS. Then if you do fu** up, you know what punishment falls on you. If you don't have a decent LG to help you when you're forgetful, do that during the off-season. Or make sure on a ******* Tuesday at 6pm you post the dammed team sheet.

The simple fact that some captains are saying teams didn't fu** up team sheets when the rules are black and white, simmers are planning to riot and stop simming and there are multiple threads asking about questionable decisions an admin has made that NO ONE KNEW ABOUT screams to me that someone, somewhere (or multiple people) have severally f’ed up. How the fu** did we get here? What the fu**...

And I don't even play in this league and I get it...
You sound like you've got your head screwed on right. Wanna join the Gumbies?

Given this is the first season I have ever seen where there isn't a stickied thread of who is in what side, I wouldn't even know who or what a Gumbie is

Don't know the Gumbies, you say? To the top of the recruitment list you go.

So well written. This guy is admin material.

Imagine how poetic it would be if millko was the one to bring ant bear down

My captain is a fine, upstanding citizen of the Sweet FA

Also, currently without team representation. Which is a concept yet to be explored I think in the SFA

You've been here about two minutes friend.

As I noted in an earlier post. Being an outsider means a different view can sometimes be offered. Yep I am a Barbarian but like heaps of people here,vi get lots of fun.

A poor governance system is good only for s**t fights which may entertain some folk but risks burning people

I think the current model developed by you vets has problems.

The Admin role is set up to fail, irrespective of who is doing it.

I think these can be resolved. Your committee differently constituted could become more like a board and the Admin should be directly accountable to it.

My view and added to the mix
