We're now a decent way through the season, and what a season it's been! Who could forget that time the Gumbies lost heaps of games, or that time that guy got nuked for doing weird stuff?

What a jolly fun time we've all had.

But we all know that, come the end of the season, we don't just have the grand final to look forward to. We have awards season.

Yes, awards season - where ClarkeM campaigns mercilessly for a high beez ranking, and where Tarkyn_24 gets overlooked for a forward position in the All-Sweet FA side despite a superior sim AND posting season than an unnamed player who made it. But thankfully broader contributions to the league are never overlooked.

So much jolly fun.

The issue is, come awards time, SO MANY of the Sweet FA community simply have no idea what to expect. They don't know who's in the running. Gosh, they might not have even HEARD of some of the winners before.

So, in this thread, I'll let you know who the CONTENDERS are for the awards we all know and love, potentially including but also potentially not including:

An early CONTENDER first up: I Dont Care from The Roys.

Captain TedDougChris has given I Dont Care the prized RR position all season, and doing so is paying dividends.

The Roys have been just okay this season, currently holding a 4-4 record going into this weekend's matches and sitting sixth on the ladder. But I Dont Care has been exceptional, currently leading tackles (53), leading frees for (32), and leading Exie (836) league-wide.

Combined with a third placing in kicks, I Dont Care is putting together all of the elements of a Mobbs-winning personal best season.

THE BIG QUESTION:

Does I Dont Care have the experience to keep the pace? IDC will almost certainly break into the top 50 Mobbs vote-winners of all time at the end of this season, and also polled relatively well in Season 28 (15 votes). But when it comes to absolute top-end talent, it's hard to know if I Dont Care can match it with the best all season long.

Warriors skipper, TheInjuryFactory, is a strong beez CONTENDER this season.

Widely considered a potential winner pre beez count in Season 28, TIF could be considered unlucky to not already be a beez medalist. Finishing third to manangatang and Barrybran in Season 28, TheInjuryFactory has followed up with a superb Season 29 so far.

Will it be enough? Whilst a third placing is absolutely nothing to sneeze at, you get the impression TIF might have thought, "what else do I need to do?" after Season 28. With a strong media presence and drama across the league in Season 29, it's going to be tight again up the top.

Captain of the Bombers, WaynesWorld19, is a CONTENDER for All-Sweet FA selection in Season 29.

Although not everybody's cup of tea, it's hard to deny that WaynesWorld19 has been at his controversial best this season. Often the talk of the league, Wayne has continued the Bomber tradition of drama, which ultimately saw the dramatic departure of prolific league contributor JoshWoodenSpoon.

For better or worse, WaynesWorld19's presence around the league is difficult to miss, exemplified by his - to date - 324 posts in the Bombers' match thread against the Demons.

Wayne has also been involved in media production, creating threads such as:

League favourite NaturalDisaster is a CONTENDER for the Fred Medal.

Spearhead of the East Side Hawks NaturalDisaster is quietly putting together an excellent season.

Currently (as of the end of the previous round) sitting third on the goal-kicking chart, ND is within striking distance of the top spot.

NaturalDisaster has been relatively accurate in front of the big sticks this season, kicking 34.19 in total.

THE BIG QUESTION:

Can ND take another step? Despite having an excellent season so far, those ahead will be tough to usurp.
