That's terrible if true! Maybe they're just negotiating a better deal or something. He better be on the list for the rest of his career. :(

Can the club legally tell you if you call them? Someone should do it! Get the updates for Matera and Day too.

I'd call, but it'd be expensive from the USA. :eek:
 
He was one of the 17 year olds we were able to select the year before the draft, I'm pretty sure. As far as i'm aware, all those guys were contracted until the end of 2012.

So as far as I am still aware he has not signed. May I suggest to you that if Marc Lock is your source maybe get him to check with Bull to confirm. But you can bet if and when he does sign we will read about it in the GC Bulletin or GC website as he is one of our good players, but to date NOTHING !!!!!!!
 
I wouldn't take the word of people claiming that they know the family. If I did that for every poster who said that, then half of the people on this forum would be related somehow. :D

I think Stanley has not signed yet. As mentioned, it would have been announced as all of them do.

With that said, I think it's only a matter of time. If the club didn't want him, they would of delisted him. Fairly confident he will get extended, but is just working stuff out now. Rory will be the first of a few, I think.

How long as he got to get signed for next year? What's the cut-off date for players to re-sign before they're dropped? Surely before the pre-season starts, I would have thought.

The contract extensions keep rolling on!

Seb Tape just extended until the end of 2013. Has had a very up and down year this year, so am looking forward to him filling out a little more over the pre-season, and improving greatly in the 2012 season. :thumbsu:

On his day, Tape has been great for us. Unfortunately the Melbourne game was his last, which was arguably his worst for the year. Sort of stands out. Lets remember that he has been put on some very good forwards though, and kept them very quiet. Stevie J, Goodes, etc.

So yeah, looking forward to him filling out his frame and getting better for 2012!

Tape mentioned that there was a very strong bond amongst the group. Always good to hear as well.

Tape joins Rory Thompson, Daniel Gorringe and Dion Prestia who have all recently signed deals tying them to the club until the end of the 2013 season.

Pffft... Would rather have used him as trade bait this season or next. Always going to be a fringe best 22 in our side at best, even when Brown, Bock, etc retire.
 
I remember quite a few Brisbane Lions fans saying the same thing about Nigel Lappin during his first couple of seasons when he used to make a lot of mistakes, missing easy targets and goals with poor disposal etc. Young players have a habit of improving. Time will tell. I'd be inclined to give our top draft picks 3 years (longer for the KPPs) before making a decision on their future, otherwise it could come back to bite us on the bum big time.
 
Agreed SunGod. Yeah, we've all been a bit critical of Tape (myself included), but I'm willing to give him another shot. Especially if the club has put faith in him and renewed his contract. Hope he builds up over the pre-season.

Awesome news, was it announced on the club website?

Actually checked the site and saw the confirmation, gee they could of picked a better photo of young Sam though.
