Probably, but I don't see Tippo moving. I also see him on 600,000-700,000 or so, not the million plus bandied about, his first year, perhaps, but not currently or into the future

Surely he couldnt move clubs? It would just look farcical and would be a huge blight on his character if he did leave to chase more cash. He owes us a fair bit given he hasnt even played a full 23 games in 2 years at the club.

Would not think Tippett would change clubs again. Reckon his next contract will be heavily incentive based.

With the afl's new rule where left over cash can be carried over, say if we had Tippett on incentive based contract for a max of 800k pa. If he only played 10 games and the incentive portion of the contract took effect and we only paid say 650k, would the 150k carry over or does the 800k total get counted in the salary even if we pay less ??

Might be a bit hard to understand what I'm getting at lol

I get it, but you would still have to count the full amount just in case he plays all games, or sign everyone to one year contracts.

Let Tippo go to Freo then. He hardly ever gets onto the field, and doesn't ruck. Frees up plenty of salary cap, so we can bid for young Boyd at GWS.

I've gotta say I wouldn't be crying if Tippet moved on. I have liked what I've heard about Nankervis, I love what Reid gives us, I'm excited by Membrey.

I can see Franklin moving to the goal square alongside Nanka with Reid roaming across half forward and Membrey leading up.

Must say I was a little surprised to see this. The club clearly has a lot of faith in him but it is probably also a way of saving money. Rather than signing an older guy from another club who would demand greater cash, sign Xavier on the cheap and hope he gets there in a good environment (around his learned brother).
