Mitchell is the clear #1 priority now. No messing about, now Jack's negotiations are through and final let's get Titch signed sealed & delivered as quickly as possible.

I'd then look at an extension for Heenz (if it hasn't yet happened) and signing on Laids & Hewett.

The rest can work around these guys.

Guys like Richards, BennyMac & Towers need to show something this year or else they could very well not get a choice of going on (or not) at the club next year. Ideally though, I wouldn't at all mind having Benny Mac & Teddy on next year if they are on peanuts and contributing to the young guys coming up through the ranks (ala Rok & LRT). More-so BennyMac (as experience & cover), however I wouldn't begrudge Ted wanting one more year so long as he understands his role will likely be NEAFL/backup and a more coaching type role.

Papley...5 year contract now! Anyone putting in that amount of effort for our jumper deserves it. He's making Benny look ordinary and I love McGlynn.
Paps & Titch are the 2 I want to see the club look at. Paps sounds like he's a pretty safe bet to stay (with all his family history & the fact every1 else overlooked him & we snapped him up). Titch is probably getting massive offers from all over the place, he needs to be our #1 priority IMO.

I'm a little less optimistic. Feel he's going to get an offer he cant refuse from carlton or the like and we have midfield depth and bigger priorities in mills and heeney soon.

It is the reason the cap is there. So that teams are stopped from over paying multiple players on their list. It would send clubs broke.
If Tom feels he wants to go home close to family & get an extra 300-400k to do so then I reckon anyone of us would jump at such an opportunity. In fact he'd be mad not to. I don't think we will be able to entice him to stay because whatever offer we make will be significantly lower.

People are going to blame the club should Tom leave, but the stark reality is that it is almost entirely out of the clubs hands now. It is really up to Tom to decide if he wants to go given that he will be getting offers too good to refuse.

Has stated previously that he loves the club and he wants to stay a swan. If anything, his manager would only be shopping for a market price and again take that back to the swans and say this is what he is worth what have you got.

I dont have a problem with titch leaving he will be part of another strong midfield for years to come as they are all quite young.

Lloyd and Robinson would be the ones to look out for by other clubs that they would seem easier to poach. Robinson wouldnt be all that much of a loss but Lloyd would dent any progress that we are trying to build going forward.

I'm a little concerned about Mitchell's contract status given we recently announced signings of Jack & Cunningham. It would suggest Mitchell has some sizeable offers in front of him and is seriously considering.

Might also have something to do with accommodating Hurley perhaps?

Or perhaps Hurley has given us a clear no which has allowed us to progress Jack's/Harry's contract negotiations.

who knows

Tommy Tradebait is having a good year..His worth to other clubs is increasing... I think it would be near impossible for Sydney to match any offer for him, given our Gold plated current bunch of Mids

There is a possibility he will take less money...but 200k less? I doubt it..

If he hasn't signed by around round 15..he is going to another club

I'd say by round 8.

My hunch is Hawthorn will be the team he will go to should he leave.
They more than anyone will give him the chance of success & Sam Mitchell won't go too much longer.
