Have to keep Hewett as well - he will be in the shop window for the Adelaide clubs for sure - we have developed him nicely !!!

They can sniff as much as they like, we're not going to trade him now.

Mitchell is already on huge coin if he gets a payrise that would push him into the 550-600k bracket? which imo is way to much.

Mitchell & Reid are in the same basket, got good paydays for signing on long term, I would think both would sign for about the same money, given the increase in the CBA a pay cut but still they would earn about their worth.

i would imagine Hanners and Parker would've signed for less than they could elsewhere to stay in Sydney. This sets an example for others, ala Hawthorn.

Difference is one of them is turning out to be worth what we are paying him and should continue to be remunerated well in the future. The other is Reid.

Reid didn't get a massive per season pay rise, he got a long term deal.
Mitchell was paid overs because of the bidding war with GWS.

ShItting on Reid doesn't improve Mitchell's chances of signing on because there is no real relationship between the 2.
Mitchell's problem is that Hannebery, Parker and JPK are going nowhere. Heeney & Mills won't get traded before him.

It is all heading the same way as Craig Bird the difference is that Mitchell will get offers to good to refuse from elsewhere.
Everyone wants Mitchell to stay, but let's be realistic, Mitchell is the expendable one if for no reason other than he is the only one without a contract for next season and beyond.

Well Kieren Jack and Mitchell are both OOC, who's the main priority?

I say if they really want to go, then you let them go. As kong as we are adequately compensated with a high draft pick in order to bring in another good top player. We should have let Jetta go prior to signing his last contract because one might say we didn't see his best in the last few years. Perhaps he didn't have that edge from not being totally happy.

Refer to Parker.
Melbourne boy. Offers from EVERY Vic club at heaps more money yet he chooses to stay with us without even wavering one bit.
It is now showing in his on field efforts. Parker will get his payday at the Swans. Security & respect is often underestimated by a very large percentage of people & Tommy will have this ringing in his ears from his father Barry who left a place where he was & still is hugely respected, to go to firstly Collingwood where he was a much maligned player by both supporters & team mates & then to Carlton where he eventually had a run in with Pagan.
The place is a f . . k . n dark place. Even the freaking name spells it out. The Blues! The Dark Navy Blues! How morbid!
Why the hell would Tommy want to go there.

No!
If Tommy ever leaves for the go home factor, you can mark my words it will be to Hawthorn to replace the other Mitchell as he is closer to the end then the start of his career & money will be freed up.
But Tommy will stay a Blood I'm sure.

Man... can you imagine the MB :fire::mad::thumbsdown::cry:

Found this little gem from the thread when the trade ban was first announced. I can picture the meltdown now. *evil laugh*

My first thought is to bank all the cap over the next two years and buy up big in 2017. Throw this shit back in their faces. "What mofos?! You told us this was the way we had to do it?"

Snuck over to the Blues forum to see what they thought. I am proud to say that I resisted contributing to the discussion.

I think their best offer was pick 20 or something. They still have that misplaced sense of entitlement.

Having read and heard Pridham in action, would not be surprised if he said that...
