Jack Martin had 1000 more runs on the board and Carlton got him for absolute free in the PSD. I'm still annoyed about that.

Have no fear, Brockmans "Price going up" at worst, is from a PSD selection to our pick 53 or 58, which will end up in the 60's anyway.

Both throwaway picks. No need to cry about Kane saying something nice about a potential player of ours.

Those picks in the 50’s will more likely end up in the 40’s once the picks to match the earlier bids start vanishing

But your point still stands

It's possible that people comprehend your post and still don't like the outcome?

Hard to tell if all that is posted is a confused looking person who looks like they just followed through and crapped themselves.

If 6 1st round picks for Reid and a couple 2nd rounders does not appeal feel free to suggest what picks would be adequate.

The assumption here is we HAVE DECIDED to trade pick 1.

So if we did I'd suggest a move from 1 to 2 then to pick 4. Likely still have the choice of McKercher, Sanders or Curtin at pick 4. And land multiple 1sts this year and next.

Great deal for VIC clubs, s**t deal for the interstate clubs. Harley Reid for Watson and Caddy (Pick 7 and 8 after Walter,Read and McKay compo), neither of whom want to come to West Coast and Gold Coast trade away all their points which they need for a bloke on $1.3m and has a couple of years left. Foxtrot Oscar Cooney.

imagine giving up all these high draft picks to dump salary in the past.

and then pay pick 4 and 26 to take on the salary dump of all salary dumps.

can see a lot of thought was put into that one.

Admittedly ive never seen him play.

Is he any good. Please advise on a scale of mason cox < nankervis < gawn

Is an upgrade on anything we have..

Adam Kingsley said a few weeks ago he didn’t play his way out of the Giants side Briggs form in the reserves was to good to ignore and he then couldn’t get back in

Ok I'll make it a bit more simple to understand.

For the simple people.

The club determines Reid is NOT our saviour and decide to trade pick 1.

Now I know many on here dont want to hear that. They dont agree. And any mention of trading pick 1 instantly post gifs of confused old kents who just farted and followed through. We know you dont want to trade pick 1. But what if we do.

So what could be the best outcome IF we decided to trade? IF people. IF.

If we can turn pick 1 plus add couple of 2nds into six 1st round picks. Yes 6 1st round picks in two drafts. THAT would be a decent outcome. Three 1st rounders this year. Three in the hand for 2024.
Thats a lot of IFs

Listened to the actual interview

Im not sure who typed the tweet but the "us" is supposed to be "Melbourne"

Thanks

That makes more sense now

Surely we can make a better case for game time than Melbourne since Grundy couldn’t get a gig as 2nd ruck behind Gawn

I was asked to come up with a 17 club super mega deal. So I warmed up with a three club deal first.

There is always going to be a couple of if's in mega trades.;)

Starting with the assumption we have decided to trade pick 1 isn't too much of a stretch is it? There are only two choices....split the pick or use it.

Brockman + Rotham straight swap. It is pointless keeping Rotham on the list especially now Simpson is coaching again in 24. Rotham has been here 7 seven years under Simpson and it is just not happening.

Last derby Simpson had Rotham as a fwd tag on Ryan which lasted about a quarter it is time for both parties to move on. My take on Rotham is that he is too lazy and too soft. He is a lazy trainer not as bad as some we have had but doesn't push himself to get better so any chance of playing him on the wing goes because he hasn't got the fitness to do the required running. And in any key area of the field ruck, forward or back his softness shows up.

The next thing of course is why would Hawthorn want him. Well I clearly don't rate him but others on here do and other teams have shown some interest in the past. Instead of burning a bridge with Hawthorn and forcing Brockman out through the PSD do a trade instead of having Rotham sit in the WAFL all year.

So I've heard this morning an idea that the Dee's are wanting Oliver out and are going to try and package him up for a deal to get pick one from us.

I hope our club does it due diligence and run a mile from any idea of Oliver. Suffice to say his hospital "infection" and 10week hammy were nothing of the snort.

Their fans would be ropeable if he was traded out. Reckon he has the potential to be close to their best ever.
