Wow Logue, Fisher and Daniel till 2027

We are not a serious football club

Eddie Ford has played some good AFL games.
Was surprised to see he's not played in the seniors this year.

What's the main knock on him?
Do you think he would be offered another contract?

I'd be interested in bringing him in as a back up for Ben Long. Midsizer that can take an overhead mark but also ok with ball on ground.

He finished last season poorly and that form continued into this year. He seems to have improved his fitness and has been playing better at VFL level off HBF. When he’s up and about he makes us better. Whether he can lift enough to convince selectors he’s worth another stint at the top level is another matter.

Ok, thanks for response.
Interesting that fitness has been an issue.

Was he playing mostly HF/Wing last year?

Averaging 5 marks a game (when not sub affected) suggests he gets to enough ‘good spots’

Looking at stats like F50 ground ball gets, contested marks, contested possessions after clearance he outranks a number of 'good' AFL players.

I'm sure stats don't tell the full story, but on paper at least, he certainly looks like a promising young player with a few strings to his bow.

I had been compiling this list for a while so the HS has provided the last few for me to complete.

Here is the link to all of the player managers as well

Could we pay out fisher and / or Logue to get more list spots? We’ve got a few players with contracts ending this year I’d like to see stick around.
Historically we have shown we dont have much of an appetite to move overpaid underachievers on. Polec and sleevo being the only examples in living memory i can think off ?

and then we just waste the spots on other cloggers, wash rince repeat.

If the salary cap was actually doing its job this would occur more frequently. Long contracts that can be changed year to year have undone this.
