North Melbourne have #20 and #21. If we want #6, we'll have to cough up #15 and #19.

Dyson Sharp will not last to #6. He's a far safer bet that CDT.

If we get pick 6:
#1 Sharp
#2 Duursma
#6 Lindsay or CDT

If we don't:
#1 Sharp
#2 Duursma
#15 Faz
#19 Fred/Phillipou/Barker.

These people thinking Rodriguez is not a top 30 pick are nuts.
those 20 and 21 picks blow out to 26 and 27 after compo for allen , draiper , TDK , silvagni, worpol and a PP if the afl give it to us

20 & 21 will slide further than our pick 15 will for starters with potentially Draper, Silvagni, Worpel and maybe even a assistance pick for us coming at the end of the first round.

We should be able to package up the Hawks first & second rounders and still keep our own second rounder for a slider and Hawks third rounder and pick for Chesser for Banfield.

I know that this is what Cal says, but it's definitely not based on 2025 form where he has been middling at best.
Heck both Bendigo and Murray had better rucks at Talent League than Duff-Tytler.
Ditto. I don't think he's that good. Also, talls, especially rucks, are a huge risk with top 10 picks, let alone top 2. If you check out Luke Jackson's highlight reel from his draft year, he's a fair way ahead of CDT. I'm big on Duursma, but he's not without risk. Duursma and Sharp present a good investment profile.

Pick 6 probably blows out to pick 10. But that's irrelevant. What's relevant is who can offer the best deal for #6. That's probably us with #15 and #19.

Disagree. He averaged 20 touches, 6 marks, 4 clearances, 17 hitouts and a goal a game at CTL level. Combine his performances with his height, athleticism and huge upside and I can definitely see why everyone rates him so highly

"No high upside" is something people who think they are way smarter than they really are, use. You don't have a crystal ball, mate. All we know is at 18, he was the best player in the country, and plays league footy. No one knows if he's peaked at 18, or will progress at AFL level and be a superstar. No one knows this for any player. People said this BS about Will Ashcroft. This, "but I know other players have more upside" is a nonsense.
im just quoting what all the draft experts have said, sharp lacks the athletism to be a elite player (this doesn't mean he wont be a very good player.) there's reasons why people like cal have him at 6 even though he's been the best performed player this year.

Jim Houston

20 disposals
8.7 marks
4 clearances
25 hitouts

CDT has good stats, but they aren't ground breaking. I think he had one really good game in the VFL. Might have kicked 4.

He's good, but not the level that I think a ruckman has to be at to take with a top 2 pick.

Duursma could take 3-4 years to hit his straps. I think Sharp can do it quicker. Taking two kids who could take 3-5 years to get good, is not ideal.

Neither Cripps or Neale are any more athletic than Sharp and both are dual Brownlow medallists, sometimes I think the so called experts can get a bit cute and overlook what is right in front of them

15 years ago, Clubs were messing around and taking outside players, leaving the likes of Cripps and Danger on the table at pick 10/11/12. Then when Dusty bashed down the door at #3 or whatever he was, and with Danger and Cripps, they sort of realised that these type of players enable teams to win games of footy. Now the game has changed, and guys like Gulden and Bailey Smith are killing it, they think the tide has turned. But it's a false dawn. You can't just stick Errol Gulden into a shit team and think they're going to be good. Muscle first. Get the cream later.

100%. North are NOT in the race for Port's pick.

How do you know? If true, I wonder who is, and could we get it cheaper?
The two posts I quoted spelled things out pretty well. Gold Coast are not going to take a points loss to donate a pick to North. They can get a better deal.

I’d melt if we took anyone other than Sharp and one of Cumming or Duursma at 1-2 unless we knew one would slide to our next pick. We are run by total idiots if we pass up Sharp, I can understand either of the other two in preference of the other.

Schubert will be spoken about at Essendon’s current picks and certainly St Kilda’s, I wouldn’t take him at 1 or 2 though.
Yeah all of WC are total idiots, except for you cos you’re a genius🙄, you’ll also melt whatever we do, too much oestrogen.
