I understand why they took Owies. They want some mature players in the right age bracket to help McQualter given how lopsided the age demographics in our squad are. But i think it was a bad call. We don't really need the type of forward that he is. We need someone who can put on defensive pressure to help lock the ball in and kick crumbing goals, not somebody who needs the ball kicked to him on the lead and has little defensive presence.

He's not the small forward I want but he's defensive pressure is okay....That's about it really and it's not enough though.

This. 100%. He comes in and takes on the mature mid cover role for the youngsters which that peaheart #11 is meant to be playing atm and allows us to delist him.
Enquire about him in a package for their highest pick.

I wouldn't be surprised if the media has been contacted around the obsession with Harley and especially the negative stuff. Seems to have cooled a lot in the last few months especially from WA media... Kane mentioned during his Fireball segment that his critique of players is fair until mental health comes into play.

This was in response to his media ban from North around his comments on sheezel

I seem to recall someone saying that Worsfold had a word with the WA media when he took up his role as head of football...

Yep, whoever thought Shuey was a good choice for stoppage coach needs to be fired asap.

Bloke practically had the ball force fed to him by Nic Nat.

Spend the cash and give McQualter the best of the best in terms of assistant coaches.

It’s not just about finding new people, it’s imperative we try and get them from very successful programs like Collingwood and Geelong.
Those two clubs and a couple of others are the AFL standard. We are literally miles from it and we need people who have the knowledge on how to get there.

Re Shuey, players that are naturally talented don't often make good coaches. He was balanced, explosive and could hit a target. Playing midfield likely came easy for him. We need someone more technically minded coaching the stoppages who wasn't athletically gifted.

More worried about the reverse happening tbh - Shanahan overtakes Archer and then Essendon convinces him to ask for a trade. It’s not like Zach is going to be behind anyone for that KPD position.

Also seemed to be more of an instinct/confidence player than a super methodical one. I like Shuey but maybe more as a development coach

If we’re going to draft a ruckman in the MSD or National Draft then, as a minimum, they should have a highly competitive nature, even better if a little aggressive. Nank is only 199cm but he’s effective because he’s aggressive.

It was embarrassing watching Flynn being moved around at will by Gawn.

And who’s our ruck coach? Still Turnbull? It’s time we brought someone new into that role because the rucks we have seem to only go backwards in their ruck craft.

I seriously have a bloke about 10 seats up from me who uses that one constantly.

Also have the 70yr old that listens to way to much of Sumich and Hardie that likes to fill his mate in on everything during the game, he sits directly behind me and I have to listen to all of it. Drives me insane.

I have a bloke behind us that we all call the SuperCoach

When he tells his pearls of wisdom I will often follow with”comments from the SuperCoach” in a peter Harvey Canberra cadence and tone.

Look at the midfield at his disposal, it should be by far the worst in the AFL.

A sh*t midfield can still be competitive with a good structure and direction.

Our midfield structure isn't just bad, it's diabolical and that's more on the coaches then the players in there.

I don't know if this Lukes burner account or Misses Shuey, but old mate ain't cut out to be midfield coach.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it, I don't care if you agree or not.
