Not sure this has been discussed anywhere but after listening to Dan Gorringes pod , he mentioned Chad Warner came out and said he got a message from a club CEO over in the west that he will regret signing on with Sydney. I mean it sounds like Pyke was the one who messaged him that...
If it was Pyke, it was probably a joke. They're mates, don't forget.

I feel like there's a difference between, stretching the truth to big note oneself (which most would believe Phil does to an extent - e.g. 8 commitments to WCE, but only one eventuated with a contract which wasn't his fault), and completely fabricating a persona for more than 10+ years on an online forum.

I get the point that your trying to make, but it rings a bit hollow when everyone on here already knows your an extraordinarily good looking astronaut who won silver in pistol shooting at the most recent Olympics.
He simply gets a kick out of stringing the gullible along. Very accomplished troll tbf

Entirely plausible. Couple of golfers hanging a bit of shit. Context gets lost when people regurgitate stories for content.

I've been thinking about this for awhile. Our midfield is not getting any better, and while it should be the #1 position of need in the draft, I think we need to be more strategic about how we target ready-made ball-winning mids.

I would look long and hard at the Suns, who are stacked in that area of the ground and will only get stronger. Picks are irrelevant to them given Zeke Uwhland is touted top-3 pick.

If Oscar leaves, handing us another top 5 pick, could we use our second-rounder (or ours and Hawthorn's) to prise Sam Flanders out of the Gold Coast? Ready-made ball-magnet in the right age bracket who is being played out of position. Not to mention a Vic Country boy so no real ties to Melbourne. He's clean, racks it up and is smart around goals. These are the guys we should be targeting - with respect to Jack Graham and Liam Baker - bonafide mids. Would love your thoughts

I think they would want a top 10 pick.
Only if they lose Rowell as well. He does have 2 years to go on his deal I think, but it's definitely a worthy discussion. IF we offloaded the Hawthorn first-rounder for Flanders, while preserving the (likely) two top 5 picks that would be a good result.

Just look at our midfield and the lack of genuine ball-winner in there. Someone like a Flanders who is on the outer or being played out of position is worth a look. I don't think GC would haggle too hard on a Flanders when a lot of the picks may be absorbed in a bid for Uwland

I think you're forgetting that you aren't an eagles supporter.

On this board eagles supporters have every right to rip into the club but it will always come across as insulting when someone supporting another club does it. Even if you've been on this board for a while.

And Phil isn't the only one that gets stuck in with how bad we are. There are plenty of eagles posters that do the same. We are historically shithouse so you will naturally hear a lot of melts. Are you gonna bring up every other eagles supporter doing the same?
That’s a fair point. Except I’ve never gone down the incompetent list management side of the discussion here, or elsewhere. That side of the discussion I’ve always said it is what it is, let’s look forward and what does that look like.

My point re Phil is that no one argues against him. Yes other WC posters have also said similar, but then copped a backlash.

Why exactly is it bothering you whether anyone argues with Phil or not?

Just remember I was told the players to chase and how hard to and If I could get commitment then Clarke produced a contract offer.

Over the course of the season I got 8 commitments. That turned out being just 1 player landed. Graham and Baker I didn't have a role in.

I must admit though **** me outside of some tackling pressure Owies has been absolute horse shit. We got the wrong player that Carlton lost as Matt Kennedy instead of Jack Mcrae is looking like an almighty boost to the dogs.
Now the story is you were told to chase him 😁

Finkle= Einhorn.

Einhorn = Finkle

We're through the looking glass here, people

any chance we pick up Dev as a DFA or are we giving up on that one

I'd give him a rookie list deal
At worst he's a good top up for the Beagles

That’s true.

I’ve been watching Barrass closely as a result and he certainly isn’t running a lot.

He’d definitely make our defence stronger this season, but I guess we’ll have to wait and see how we use the pick we got for him, before we can assess the value of not offering him the deal he wanted.

In relation to the Allen camp knowing what other clubs will offer, maybe the other clubs will review their offers once they do the physical assessment.

Barrass runs like he is hampered, but he has always moved like that. He's certainly no Andrew McLeod.

The value of the trade is having picks from Hawthorn (in 2024 or 2025, 2025 as it panned out) vs keeping him for another 3 seasons. Extending Barrass beyond 2027 would've been a poor move, even if that is what was agreed with the previous admin.

And I forgot, the OP was talking about me saying stuff about the Eagles on other boards, presumably the Trade board.

So it wasn’t about me saying stuff here.

Probably time we got back on topic and stopped talking about specific posters

People are free to make up their own mind on whether other posters are (or aren’t) what they claim to be and whether to then believe what they post

In the absence of definitive proof either way it’s a circular argument that has no conclusion

Time to move on

Nah It’s way worse than that. When the ball leaves his immediate area he doesn’t get above a walk. It’s like watching Ash Smith after he’s had his toenails done.
