Provisional 2025 Draft order

The AFL will hype this up as much as they can. Everyone will forget it's the reject draft.

This is why I'm against taking the second pic, just focus on developing the players we have. Taking Murdock, who probably isn't up to AFL standard, would just compromise the WAFL more. I hate the idea of him swapping a Sharks guernsey for six months.

If this guy is going to be a club legend we have mere hours remaining to start off right with the spelling of his name - McCarthy. We can’t just go repeating the crimes on this board with half of you campaigners still spelling Hewett wrong 3 years later
Hewitt isnt the problem spelling , Greco is .

For me the case against trading in Cameron is that a good ruck won't help our centre clearances if Simmo's view on how midfields set up for centre bounces. So why spend the draft capital trading someone in?

A couple weeks back he was on one of the footy shows and explained that at centre bounces its three 1-on-1 contests, while in the past midfielders set up as a group. The days when prime NN was having opposition midfielders set up to nullify him winning the tap are not what todays centre bounces are about.

With our mids being young and lacking the core strength to out-position their direct opponent, it's no wonder we're getting destroyed. Not sure a better ruck changes that. Maybe they'll reduce the rucks around the ground impact, sure. But we're going to get beaten in the centre until our mids physically mature.
That Stone fella said the same about midfielders reading the oppo rucks taps.

If our ruck stocks are a bust, then if we get Cameron we will have to get another project ruck in the same draft so he's developed in time to take over. I'd rather we took a stab at a potential ruck from one of the state leagues or splash out on a younger, developed ruck from another club.

PS. Keep Bailey Williams. He might not be the best player going around but he's durable and a decent back up. It might just click for him one day.

What's up with this criticism from Freo?
(excerpt from West Aust.)
"It is the first time the club has played on WA Day eve, but not the first time they have worn the State’s colours. This one caused quite the stir with Fremantle supporters, who claimed the Eagles shouldn’t be allowed to represent WA’s history and even prompted a clip from Dockers coach Justin Longmuir..."
Not up to speed on this, but surely if there was ever a team to represent W.A's history, it'd be WCE. Aren't Freo allowed to do same?

Considering Richmond has pretty much worn the WA SoO guernsey as an away version for a few years.

McCarthy probably already on the plane to Perth maybe at training now
If WC get Murdock also , then we have too many midfielders , gone too far the other way but Murdock is pretty good and plays AFL this year .
Nek minnit.."Welcome to the west, Xavier O'neill"

I remember the hype around Culley and the thrill of landing him. Good times.

His first few games he was actually quite exciting. Bit like Brayden. Best of his career IMO. Just played free and wasn't overcoached.

Bit if a lull in his second year after a hyped pre season, before eventually rediscovering himself up FWD briefly then into his bad injury. Writing was on the wall when he returned, with his lack of agility and pace unfortunately.

Might be in line for our Curtain this year seeing those sneaky Crows took our last Curtain.

It’s always pretty astounding that a player who isn’t better than ‘pass’ in the ND then rises in that space of time to be the best player ever come the MSD. Oh well, as long as they are a BSD, that’s the main thing

Or take the second pick and select someone who didn't get drafted last year, someone that we liked and maybe didn't have another draft pick spare to take him with, and develop them.....Clancy Dennis as a KPD comes to my mind.

With Barras gone, gov one foot out the door, harry improving but not great, Brock ok, who are our long term prospects to becoming the next Harris Andrews or Gov. They take time. Is Shanahan that or with waterman out does he go forward.

Or do we take artimus, who missed out. Was he on our draft board last year.

It's an 18 month contract that we should explore a young player potential with our second pick. 3 months in the Eagles WAFL and then a full preseason.

Gawd, forgot who he was, that went well...you win some you lose some!
Culley not suited to this game, but at least McCarthy has speed going for him.

I mean he kicked four when played forward then did his knee and was then picked up by the Dees.

Was named as an emergency last week coming off being in a moon boot to start the year - so can’t be too far off another go at it. Good luck to him
