Full disclosure, I dont watch the upcoming draftee's and this my generic opinion. I would not want to waste number 1 pick on a ruckman. Unless he is generational talent and the chatter surrounding CDT is Natanui like (I remember the hype around him) otherwise, it is a no for me.

Pick the best available all around the ground and come 2028/2029 trade out picks to get the ready-made ruckman. All they need to do is compete more often and not letting three/four years of top-five-pick midfielders do the work.

The chatter is he could be generational. He certainly has the talent.

I am not familiar with Moyle, and I'm starting to see his name pop up. Anyone have a brief summary of his playing style and who he is similar to in recent times?

And what happened to Knobel, or Reidy (Freo)?

Can Darcy offer anything, considering we have plenty left in our Cap space and can grab a pick?

Personally I dont see BBW/Flynn be around for too long.
Knobel's out injured for the rest of the year.
It would be a West Coast thing to trade in a player who may or may not be over a injury.

So we could add this CDT kid to our fine collection of 'Not-Ruckmen'??

Bailey Williams, Cal Jamieson, Harry Barnett, Coen Livingstone...

I guess if old mate Cal gets the chop we'd have spot free for another one?

If he doesnt grow another 4-5 cms he'll be a chf nick reiwoldt type
He's th same height as Luke Jackson is currently. Certainly could be a bit taller come draft combine.

Look how tall English is, yet is weak in ruck contests and gets repeatedly beaten by smaller rucks.

CDT is not going to solve our ruck issues. Below is the listed stats for Jackson and CDT for there respective underage years obviously with the championships to come for CDT.

It’s taken Jackson until this year imo to be a good ruck in the contest to supplement his ground ball work and athleticism.

CDT is years away from being good enough to ruck solo and lead the team like so we would be much better served picking a player with the ability to be strongly contributing from next year.
Might not be a number 1 ruck for a few years but Jackson was a key player in Melbournes premiership as a 20 year old.

You'd definitely be wanting to ditch both Bailey Williams and Barnett if we add CDT to our list IMO. The former in a trade.

Don't hate the idea of CDT if he's best talent available, but we'd REALLY want to be nailing that high pick after what we've suffered through as a club to be receiving it.

Particularly after the Barnett dud selection and potential moving on from Chesser as well... Following Brander and Venables. Can't keep burning draft selections in a rebuilding team.

I'm hoping WCE give Livingstone & Barnett another 1-2 year contract, both starting to build some form in the WAFL. Maybe they will never make it but they are in the right age bracket. Cameron by the time he gets to the eagles he will be 31 next year, only way we would take him if he was free.

Pretty sure Barnett has another year - it would be a massive bonus if he was to turn the corner in the second half of this season and potentially break into the team next year as a genuine ruck option (what he was drafted for).

That seems like pretty long odds at this stage but the spot is there to be grabbed still - come on Batman!

Forget breaking into the AFL side, I'd take Barnett simply contributing and not being a total liability for the Beagles WAFL team at this point.

Last week was a big step forward for him, wasn't amazing but contributed at least. That should be his floor if he wants to remain on our list going into 2026.

I'ill be honest i havent seen either Barnett or CDT play, but i'd imagine CDT would offer more right now than Barnett.

100% DS… hope has been fading rapidly until last week.

You get racehorses like this. They do just enough every 3rd run to justify their place in the stable but ultimately are good for **** all.

Livingston Yes but Barnett going worse than a first year player. Even his improvement has been one semi decent game. Bloke would be playing reserves footy if he wasn’t an AFL listed player

Suggesting giving Barnett more years..... He would be lucky to be playing reserves at any real WAFL club. He is horrendously out of form and gets destroyed in the ruck despite now having a very solid build and having very good athleticism.

Has a pea heart and just doesn't have the competitiveness or physicality required to make it on exposed form.

Also Starcevich is likely 1 more concussion away from being sent to the panel ala McGovern. On top of that whilst being a good kick and great lockdown defender he is slow. Would be a ridiculous idea to pick him up.

Barnett literally has another year already.

Let's hope he can pull it together and use those attributes - the guy was a talented teenager and at 21 still has time to develop as a Ruckman.

Was listening to Triple M this morning while out working and Ryan Daniels reckons Brisbane's got a 900k deal for Oscar while the Eagles is around 600k ladened with triggers and incentives...the guy is 26 years old and can't even get up to train during the week and you're gonna be offering him 900k? F*cking seriously?!

Take pick 2 and run like the wind, Eagles.

#12 Wesley Walley, 184cm, Forward (Subiaco)

The premier forward prospect for Western Australia in 2025, Wes Walley is a West Coast NGA product. The nifty goal sneak has shown glimpses of brilliance across his Colts career, with clever leading and running patterns paving the way to goal for him. He has kicked multiple goals in all but one game for Subiaco this year and did the same in WA’s trial win from five scoring shots. If Wes Walley gets off the chain during the U18’s tournament, he could become a household name, and a great name at that.

#14 Garrison Kenh, 182cm, Defender (East Perth)

Another bottom-age prospect whom Perthisok previewed this season, Kenh is an attacking half-back who loves to run and carry and start forays forward for the Royals. The West Coast NGA product of Liberian descent has played every game for East Perth as a 17-year-old and projects as a major ball user out of defence in the Championships for WA.

#18 Koby Evans, 187cm, Forward/Midfielder (Perth)

Disappointingly sidelined due to a back injury, Evans was one of WA’s most exciting prospects before he went down and looked set to feature prominently in their tournament campaign. Evans is a big body who can impact aerially and on the scoreboard up forward, or throw his weight around in the midfield to win the football for his side. Expect the West Coast NGA prospect to finish the year in impressive style.

#26 Charlie Banfield, 191cm, Wing/Midfielder (Claremont)

West Coast Father/Son prospect (Son of Drew) Charlie Banfield is a taller midfielder who utilises his height to deliver well weighted disposals coming out of the midfield, but is also a strong runner, allowing him to excel on a wing as well. Banfield was an integral cog in Claremont’s premiership season in 2024, and Eagles fans will want to watch him closely during the Championships.

It's possible a deal has been made and part of that deal is that he is "managed" for the rest of the season to limit injury risk.

Will that offer get us band 1 compensation factoring in the recent rise in salary cap?
