Wasn't it only a few weeks back where that Buss fear of flying story was put to bed as not true?

The more I think about it, a combination of Lindsay and Sharp would be what I’d probably want. A contested mid, as well as a player with some serious foot skills.

Recruit a quality ruck, or let Archer and Jack Williams figure it out.

Don't get attached to highly rated draftees. Learned that lesson the hard way last year. This club has a raging hard on for trading down and grabbing vanilla blokes.

Focus on West Aussies who are projected to go middle to late first round.

Blight has slipped down the pecking order at Richmond .
Luke Trainor and few other talls seem to be more in favour now.
Don’t think Blight has a contract and is ex WA.
Could be gettable and cheap
Yep, he’s about 4-5 deep in their key defender depth chart. OOC and should be very gettable. Good VFL numbers.

Issue is he’s from Richmond so let’s see what Clark is ready to had them to be a ‘nice’ club.

Charlie Dean at the Pies looks similar in terms of VFL output and being down the preferred order.

Still fairly young, OOC and would be surprised if he was offered one.

Could be real cheap.

Blight is one I really like but Matty clarke would do something ridiculous cause he’s a tiger🤣

Contracted. Bulldogs will want too much.

Blight imo
Blight looks like another H Edwards imo.
Ok for a cheap backup if we get injuries.
Since we chased Busslinger last year and he has only played 2 games and has only 1 year left on his contract, I wouldn't think they could expect anymore than a mid 2nd round pick.

I’ve only seen a little bit of Blight but he looks far more mobile than Edwards and has looked pretty decent one on one.

Is he a star? No, he was an MSD pick up, but I think he could potentially be an upgrade on Edwards.

I think Blight has been pushed out becuase of Balta and Miller.

I’d love Busslinger but given everything circling around the dogs and getting cents on the dollar for smith and potentially JUH, I can’t see them letting a contracted busslinger go for perceived unders, as much as I would like.

Sorry to intrude. Apparently Darcy is only on 700k a year, so I'm not sure that we mind that much paying out most (if not all) of his contract. It's actually about average (or slightly over) for a AFL ruck. If you could get his body right he still goes well (has won our best and fairest).
I know trades between Dockers and Eagles don't happen often but Erasmus will be a good get. He's been a slow build but I reckon he's a good footballer that just has not had the opportunites.

Geez how times have changed dockers unloading there junk on to us , I miss the late 90s im sure we were all talking Hynes, Fewster and Metro up.

Blight may well be more athletic than Edwards, but if he is behind just solid players he may be just that, a depth player.
Not criticizing Blight, but shortly WC are going to need to replace Gov, this year or next and they will have 2 options.

This year, put a better offer and acceptable offer to WB to pry him out. That maybe around a mid second round pick or slightly more which if I am getting a FB ready to go I would be more than happy with that and we have D Shanahan an NGA prospect next year that looks to be very decent, so having him as a draftable prospect we have our immediate KPD sorted, future sorted.
To do that we have to give up something?
Next year for Gov he is OOC so same thing, a second round pick.
WB are charging for a premiership/top 4 and playing their preferred KPD players so cant see him getting much of a look in very soon.

From memory Blights time trails are right up there at Richmond. Would add something different to HEdwards imo.

Redden and Stenglein were big bodied defensive inside mids who were only getting 15-20 touches per week. Cera plays the same role for Carlton. You don't want these guys get 30+ per week because then they start being counter productive.

I think Redden would have had a bit more than 15-20 a week in 2018 when he came second in the B&F and was our player of the finals!
AB is right.

In 2018 Redden had his peak year with average 25.12 disposals.
In fact, the only two years with us he averaged less than 20 was his first year (2016) and the never to be mentioned again Covid hub year.
